“Definitely stays dry and dries quickly. However the plastic-ky feel in the feet is less pleasant to me than cotton or a natural fabric, and it feels like the feet heat up quickly. So I think definitely worth if going for long multi day wet hike, but probably without for a one day trip even if wet.”

“excellent product - had a foot problem which allowed me only to wear an open sandal (in Jan/Feb!) over a bandage. However, a sealskin sock over the bandage enabled me to walk outside without getting wet or frozen feet! Brilliant”

“My feet stayed warm even in colder water, but you need to wear socks underneath. For warm water they are just perfect and are great for kayaking.”

“Ordered gloves and socks. Both were excellent at preventing frozen hands and feet. They got wet, unavoidable when your hands are in the water or pouring rain, but even with the cold wind blowing, my hands stayed comfortable for the duration. I ordered the small gloves only due to measurements but could have gone with the smaller size. The socks fit perfectly.”

“Cheap overpriced junk, so flimsy the hat band wont even stay in place its always folder down on your forehead, the junk adjusting clasp lock wont stay fastened. this think is a joke”

“Well what can I say, I very proficient and trustworthy company, I had a pair of gloves that lost their waterproofness and after a couple of questions and a video I got a voucher for twice the amount which I used to buy another pair, I can't recommend sealskinz enough you'd be mad not to purchase from them.”

“I would simply work on improving the product. The beanie hats are similar to cloth-lined wearing diapers on your head and make a lot of noise. This could be an issue if one were in certain dangerous areas like high traffic, etc. while walking, biking, etc. The socks are a lot better than the beanie, but the exterior material holds a lot of water (like the beanie material) making it heavy, saturating the boot it is in, etc. and it takes an incredibly long amount of time to dry and is harder to wring out compared to other cold-weather socks of comparable thickness. Also, heavy rain can still trickle down through the top, even with the silicone liner and, if exposed, as I said before, the sock saturates very quickly, is very hard to wring out, and takes an extremely long time to dry.”

Thank you for your review. Our Waterproof hats and Beanies contain an internal waterproof membrane and this is designed to be 'Floating and not laminated to the layers to allow the hats to offer a good amount of stretch for a good, close fit. The hats can have a slight rustle when new but this softens through use and generally is not as noticeable once the hats are being worn. Our Waterproof socks also work through the use of an internal waterproof membrane which prevents water from passing through the outer fabric layer to the inside of the socks. This means the outside layer will get wet, but the membrane will prevent the water from passing through to your feet. The cuffs of the socks are open to allow the legs to be placed inside and they are unable to provide a watertight seal or a vacuum to prevent water run in. The Hydrostop band helps reduce the amount of water that can enter but the cuffs should be covered in the wet to ensure water is not able to freely run down inside- once inside the membrane will trap the water. The internal membrane is delicate and we recommend not wringing or twisting the socks at any time to ensure this is not damaged and torn. To dry, blotting the socks can help remove excess water. “I am an international professional racing sailor. Sealskinz socks are my absolute go-to for yacht racing. I can use the shoe I need for the activity I’m involved in at the time. They are 100% waterproof, flexible and appropriate for my work. I promote them to everyone I know. They are also fantastic for wearing in RIBS when coaching, and even off-road hiking. My best buy for a long time.”
