About Urban Cooling:

At Urban Cooling, we have been installing all types of air conditioning solutions into residential, commercial, retail and leisure premises for over 20 years.

We specialise in providing air conditioning to buildings which otherwise cannot have it. With our solutions, buildings such as apartments and listed buildings can have the same standard of air conditioning as conventional systems provide, without the need for an external unit.

Operating within the M25, we undertake installations across all London postcodes.

“Great experience with Urban Cooling. I had two units installed, one in the living room and another one in the bedroom. The installation was done in one day and to a high standard. I work remotely from my flat, which gets very hot in the summer, making it difficult to concentrate on work or enjoy relaxation time during increasingly longer spans in the summer. This coming summer will be my third since the installation, and having air conditioning has radically improved my life for the better during the summertime. I can keep my flat as cool as I want and it is a joy to have. I fully recommend having it installed if your place gets uncomfortably hot in the summer, and Urban Cooling to do the job.”

“It was a simple uncomplicated process from start to finish with people who were understanding and fully informed re their subject. I was happy to proceed and from first survey until the Installer Luke and co arrived, it was smooth. Luke did have flak from the neighbour upstairs as the concrete building reverberated with the drill noise. But he handled it with great British phlem and continued on with great good humour. I so appreciated that. The finishing up of the ceilings for the pipes was handled by my own builders on site so cannot comment on that aspect. But the machines themselves are elegant enough for me to happily live with. Simple and uncluttered. I needed both air and heating. They seem to do both very well for the demands I have. I felt every step of the way that the whole company had a hands on interest in responding to me immediately about the job. And for that I thank them. My flat gets hugely hot because of the large windows. It is a Godsend to have it air cooled now. I absolutely recommend them. Nice bunch of people doing a great job. Thank you to all.”

“I have found everyone in the team to be friendly and efficient. I am very happy with the system. The units are very neat and I am pleased with the way the fit into my home. I live in a flat which is under the roof and it can get very hot - the units have made it much more comfortable.”

“We were so impressed with the installation of our two air conditioning units. The team arrived on time, worked efficiently and with great care as well as being very friendly. After they left, you would hardly have known any work had been done. Everything was left clean and tidy and all holes made good. More importantly, we are very happy with how well the aircon works. Super quiet and very effective making our flat a comfortable space to enjoy during the summer months. We can't recommend Urban Cooling highly enough.”

“Terrible customer service. We were miss-sold by the salesperson explaining the installation process. When the installer arrived and explained what actually happened, we decided not to go forward. The installation team left 5 min later. They are holing back £600 from our deposit and not refunding us. DO NOT USE”

During the initial survey, our surveyors clearly explained that holes would need to be cut into the ceiling for the installation. This was also detailed multiple times in the description of works provided with our quotation, where it was stated that holes in the plasterboard ceiling would be necessary to accommodate the air conditioning pipework. Additionally, our quotation included a separate line item indicating the approximate cost of repairing and making good these holes using a decorator we regularly work with. We understand that you had recently decorated your property, and upon the arrival of our installation team, you decided that you no longer wanted the holes to be made and therefore cancelled the installation. This unfortunately left us with significant costs. As per our terms and conditions, which you agreed to when accepting the quotation, abortive works are chargeable to cover the costs of our installation engineers, travel, and other related expenses. At no point were these terms raised as a concern by yourselves prior to the cancellation. We immediately refunded your deposit in full, less the costs incurred from the abortive works. Urban Cooling would have been more than happy to refund 100% of your deposit if the cancellation had been made anytime up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled installation.

“I have had the water cooled system installed for over a year. It is probably one of the best decisions I have made to have it installed. Especially in a modern apartment. However, the on-going support following installation has not been as great. The yearly servicing and warranty at £200+ VAT isn’t worth the money. The engineer that attended whipped down the unit and sprayed some disinfectant into it. Nothing else was checked (ie compressor etc).”

“We had 5 units installed by urban cooling. The unit in the master bedroom was plumbed into the ventilation fan in our bathroom and on the first morning we woke up to a broken fan and flood in the bathroom. They came and managed to drain it into the soil stack but it now makes horrendous noises and will only cool to 22. It's obviously broken and they've simply ignored us.”

Following up on our recent conversation, I’d like to clarify a few points from your review. The condensate hose was connected to what appeared to be a soil and vent pipe, which is the correct type of pipe for this installation. However, it turned out that this pipe was being used for your bathroom ventilation, which is not its intended purpose. Unfortunately, this caused water damage, but we replaced the fan at no charge and rerouted the condensate drain to the proper location. I apologise for the delay in returning due to the high demand over the summer, and I appreciate your patience. I understand the temperature and noise issues that was caused by a third party condensate pump have now been resolved. Thank you for your understanding.

“Everyone at Urban Cooling has been great. Ian came to do a customised site visit at the beginning of the customer journey. Urban Cooling gave me a quote which seemed reasonable given the spec of the systems being installed and the 3 day job it would require. Even after a delay on my side the original quotation was honoured, and the guys did a great job installing it. Very happy with the system and the customer service throughout - it's great to finally have air conditioning on my greenhouse-esque London flat, thank you Urban Cooling!”

“Scott, the Urban Cooling engineer who has visited me on a couple of occasions (in central London) has provided excellent service, seems technically very able and is customer friendly (timeliness, cleanliness and explaining how the equipment works etc). The customer service team back at base are very prompt to respond and very well organised. My only quibble would be a recent increase in the annual service price which (although not unexpected given inflation etc) seemed a bit excessive.”
