Ordered a monitor only to be told after the due date they have misplaced it then told there is a stock discrepancy.What they actually mean is that they are selling an item they dont have. Have now been told it will take a week for a refund just what you need on the run up to christmas. My advice DONT USE THEM

Order was sent by DPD (Delayed Parcel Deliveries?) and according to the tracking information it arrived at their Carlisle Depot at 06:03 on Sunday morning and should have been available for collection at Sainsbury's Newton Stewart on Sunday afternoon. I called in at Sainsbury's twice on Sunday afternoon and again on Monday morning at 10:30. It was still not available for collection although Newton Stewart is only 80 miles from Carlisle, a bicycle courier could have got their quicker!

Our company paid £2500 for a poor quality computer. Update 08/11/2018 Following on from my previous updates, my company still has not been paid ANY money back from this company. We have been told on different occasions that the money will be back in our account in 1-3 days. The last time a week ago. This company is dodgy and cannot be trusted. We will now be going to our bank to take this matter up because they have had our computer back for a month and not even paid us anything back. Beware of this company. Update 28/10/2018 After writing this review, a staff member of Scan contacted us to say they would make an exception and take the computer back. Because we wanted our money back, we agreed. The computer was back with Scan by the 9th of October. After finally hearing back from them 8 days later, we got a low ball offer of £1981 but had no choice but to accept (well over £400 less than what we paid 30 days before!). After charging us £70 for pickup of the computer, we will end up with £500 less than what we paid...... We were told we would have our money paid within 2 days. To this date we still have not had our money back. We have actually been told twice it would be paid within 2 days. Complete lies. Absolutely awful service. If we could give minus stars, we would. TL:DR: Low balled us with an offer for something they should have refunded, promised to pay, but haven't. Could learn from Amazon: We ordered a £700 monitor via Amazon at same time as the computer. They took it back no problem within the 30 days. Well done Amazon, great service. Steer clear of Scan. Original Review Our company paid £2400 for a computer less than 28 days ago and after using it for this time thought it was poor quality. We tried to return the computer to scan within 28 days but were told we only had 14 days. We're now stuck with a poor quality computer which will not be used. Our company has ordered over £10K of computers previously, after this experience, we will not use them again.

Absolutely terrible service with no interest in putting things right - I Willa avoid at all cost in future! I ordered a drone which arrived quickly but had a faulty battery - Scan advised they could not replace just the battery so the whole package had to be returned. This was a Birthday present and I explained that but it didn’t make any difference. The item was returned and a replacement requested - this could not be provided until the item was confirmed as defective...this took a week and when it was confirmed they had no stock for a replacement. I had to request a refund and when this was processed the website showed that they now had stock! The delay in confirming the product was defective meant that I missed out - in contrast, their returns policy says you can return something if you don’t want it within 14 days and they’ll refund you - nothing about checking it! If Scan was a bit more flexible they could have issued a replacement as soon as the defective item had been posted back to them. Even when contacting their customer services they were polite but totally unhelpful. I am very disappointed at their lack of customer focus and empathy- at least I’ve learned my lesson...😢

Hi Gary, I can understand your frustration with the returns procedure but unfortunately with faulty products they have to be tested as the manufacturers will not accept non faulty products back. Unwanted goods don't need to be tested as they are coming back as unopened and unused items. The regulations allow us what is deemed to be a reasonable amount of time to resolve any returns. From researching previous cases this timeframe is generally up to 30 days. Of course we don't want to take this amount of time to resolve any return and try to keep our timeframe to 3-5 working days. Mostly we do keep in these timeframes but sometimes we do have busy periods and rmas can take a little longer. We are not able to just send out replacements without getting the original unit back as advised earlier we have to verify the item is faulty. This is not a question about the end user or anyone's ability to test a product but to merely ensure we are not getting non faulty products back, which unfortunately does happen. I received multiple failed components, and failed replacements for the original failed components. They spent more effort trying to deny the parts were faulty, and put the onus on the customer to 'prove' a piece of hardware was defective. If they had put this same effort into facilitating a return and replacement, the experience would have been completely different. I ended up driving to Bolton in person to try and get the experience behind me of having bought components through Scan. Another component was purchased here marked as new and unused, although it was refurbished. This was deceptive and I would warn people from buying from Scan in the future. I received good individual customer service from people in customer and tech support, but they were put in impossible situations by the quality of the products sold and a certain disbelief that anything sold through Scan must inherently be functioning and satisfactory. I also have made a written complaint, to which they have not responded or even acknowledged my dissatisfaction. You've lost a potential customer for life here.

You delivered on time, but it was the whole kit to build a high spec pc...and the motherboard was faulty.....it then took over a week to get the replacement...and you failed to advise it needed a new wifi card...which cost us another day before we could build and use the system. so SCAN is great when everything goes well, but like so many companies it fails when something has gone wrong, no one takes responsibility for customer care and there is no communication...very disappointing!

Hi David, I'm sorry you are disappointed with this return, I can see on this occasion that the return was authorised on the 20th, the item was received back with us on the 24th and we had a replacement back out with you on the 29th. Although I can see there were delays with the couriers this has met our standard 3-5 working day turnaround time that we advise customers on. I can only apologise for the replacement not having the required specification for your needs however this was confirmed as an acceptable replacement by yourself. Kind regards, Team Scan.
Husband received damaged motherboard that could not be installed due to one part having being badly positioned within the motherboard, it did not fit the very expensive computer case. Motherboard was sent back and Scan Computers is saying my husband damaged it trying to install it and is refusing to offer a refund stating it was up to him to inspect it with 48hours of receiving. The error is a marginal error so it can only be spotted when trying to install and it failed to slot where it was supposed to slot. It is not damage that can be seem prior to trying to install nor be done whilst installing it as he was accused of. Extremely poor customer service, I would stay clear of.

Hi, I have looked into this return with our team and unfortunately, due to the nature of the damage we would have to put this down as installation damage. For issues such as this where an item has been found to have physical damage we would require notification that the item has been received in this condition within 48 hours of you accepting the goods. As you reported the damage outside of this timeframe, we could only offer to have the item returned to us and repaired under our standard policies, which would typically be a chargeable repair. I can see you are currently in communications with our returns team who will continue to advise you further on this matter but we would always advise customers to inspect goods on receipt in case damage has occurred at any point. I have never dealt with such horrible company in my life. I made a finance order by the time i signed my finance agreement the Laptop was end of life. no problem not their fault. I ordered a similer cheaper laptop with some extra bits. The laptop they sent me saying its Ex Display like new laptop was dirty like hell the fan grill went was cracked. Half of the keyboard was not working. I called to to get a resolution i was told i can return it or get it replaced with a different laptop. The reason i ordered that laptop was because of it look and uniqueness. Anyway with heavy heart i decided to go with a different laptop and now i am told the other laptop i wanted is on sale and by the time they will receive original item back and test it the price can go up and i have to pay the difference and there is no way they can lock the price for the replacement and i am not allowed to speak to a manager and as she will say the same. They other item which was a Breeze 4K drone was faulty and was not working. The drone was advertised as new and when it arrived was full of finger print marks and on enquiry i was told it was due to quality check. I read another feedback someone complaining about the same used items sold as new. what a horrible bunch of people. They have no respect for trading standards or customer services.

Dishonest, cheering rogues. Carrie, their customer "service" manager unhelpful and dismissive. I paid for items which they refused to send me claiming the laptop outfit with bag and cooling tower was an old offer they could not honour. This was after I had paid and taken delivery of the laptop. Do not buy from them. No doubt, the £800 lap top will go bang very soon and I know there is no customer care at Scan computers. Avoid Scan (a Mr Raja is the Director), avoid Carrie at customer services. Total cheats. Do not spend any money with this bunch of cheating thieves.

Their customer service is appalling. 7 years ago I bought PSU which failed after 3 months. They failed exchanging it claiming there is none in stock and they are awaiting delivery. Then I check on their website, it was still in stock to buy it. After negotiating I had to pay extra for the different one. Pay more, that difference in price between them. Being desperate to have running pc I had to agree as conversation was going nowhere. Few days ago that very psu packed up. After phoning them I learned that it can't be classed as new but as a exchange to the faulty one, therefore warranty run out. Before I could say anything they put the phone down on me! How rude. Won't be shopping with them anymore. Their loss as I was about to seriously upgrade my 7 years old pc. Avoid at all cost.

Over 15 years I've used scan.co.uk multiple times.. On the three occasions there has been a problem the stores customer support was shockingly bad, the first two I put down to individual error, just a one off, but after this third issue it is clear they have a policy company wide to block and obstruct any post sales issue resulting in a return. The company wash their hands of the products they sell the minute they leave the store. The first occasion was a decade or more ago, a disk they sold failed, it was before it became routine to contact the disk manufacturer. It took about 4 months for them to get around to sending out a replacement. A few years later some blank DVD's were shipped, when I came to use them it was clear it was a bad batch, all 25 disks had a visual issue, and were faulty, despite this they insisted they only had a 28 day warranty and refused to refund. The third occasion, two weeks ago, I returned a Netgear modem which had a serious firmware issue, not fixed after a firmware update, which they asked me to do. After updating the firmware didn't fix the issue - I asked for a return, they ignored me, and continued to ignore me until I invoked my 14 day legal right of return, on top of my right to return a faulty item, only threatening them with legal action resulted in a response. They are simply crooks, if you item works, as it usually does, they are fine, but if you need to return something, well, just hope you don't if you ordered from scan.co.uk, and don't expect a new item every time either, this last item was already returned at least once as the box was cut open already.

Purchased three new Akasa Apache Black fans, received three dirty fans with scratched labels and one with a damaged connector. It was obvious they had been taken from an old system. When I rang to complain they admitted at least one had been a customer return placed back in stock. The fans were advertised as new retail models but of those sent one had a OEM label stating if removed warranty void. The other two had this label partly removed and as such came with no warranty. That a company would pass off used items as new is dishonest. To return the items they then asked me to take them to a drop off point which entailed a journey of ten miles.

Two faulty 1080ti's and I ask for a replacement for the second faulty one in two weeks. They accepted my RMA, but left out the part where they didn't actually have stock to replace my card. I am now being told it will likely take over a month to replace. Since the value of my card has risen by almost £100, I asked if I could pay the difference between my card and a similar card, and have the similar card as a replacement. The returns manager refused this and offered me the random gigabyte card they had in stock., which is far inferior and made by a far inferior company. I was offered no goodwill gestures and no proper resolution. The only options I was given was to wait 1-3 months, or to be refunded a portion of the card's value. Disgraceful. Just buy from overclockers, their customer service is far, far superior.

Very poor RMA policies and overall bad customer service. Their site FAQ's say they aim to replace faulty items within 3 to 5 days. This is not the case. Returned a faulty card under warranty, was tested and found to be faulty by scan. They then informed me that it would take up to 28 days for the item to be processed by their supplier, before a replacement could be sent. Informed them that unfortunately this would be too long for me, (as it was needed for an application to finish a time sensitive job). I would be more than happy to have it replaced with an alternative or get a refund. I was informed by their very helpful customer service representative that the only choice I had was to wait. Very helpful! Buy if your happy to wait 28 days for a replacement with no other options, and don't trust any of the FAQ's

I've had several issues, and never a good after sale care! Ever! To the extent that at the moment I've had like 6 months of faulty GPU on warranty that has been sent back and forth from scan, they keep telling me it has no fault I test in 2 different computers both crashing with the card. Finally after many complaints they agreed to replace the GPU, I've waited patiently many weeks, for Scan to return me the same faulty card! No replacement, no communication, no update on the order. Total shame.

Horrendous shipping/delivery time are issues with store collection. Very unhelpful and insincere when I had to contact about sorting things out. Still, don't have my order which was meant to be here over 5 days ago, no tracking information provided so just waiting to see if it turns up...doubtful. Will never use again.
