Arranging the logistical side the set-up was good as could be expected. If like me you count project management as a skill I possess then being on everyone's case is normal. But for anyone else, I can only imagine it's bewildering. On the day of installation, the tech support was not great and many assumptions were made by the installer. The instruction manual is confusing verging on not fit for purpose, as was the whole handover experience. The App itself is buggy and frustrating to use. But we got there, in the end. But it was not an optimal experience.

Nice guy but the finish on the job is terrible. The bit that hides the wires has scratches and he scratched our floor. He also drilled from inside-out so has broken the bricks on outside and created gaps. Poor finish and execution as shown in photos. Not happy with this PodPoint, wouldn’t recommend to friends when I’m telling them

The installation date I was given was a long time after I told you that I was ready for the charger to be installed. I received conflicting technical advice about which fuze box I could use - which determined whether this would be a complex fit or not. When the engineer arrived to fit the charger he realised that he could not use the fuze box that he had previously said we could - and that made it a complex fit with the cable needing to be laid at height. He had no colleague or ladders with him and so he could not fit the charger. Ladders were delivered the next day but this was over a week before the new date for installation and I had to store these in the open in my back garden. When the fit had been completed - and the engineers had left -I found that the charger was only charging at 2.2 KW and I had to phone Pod Point help to get it increased. The installation team had to return the next day because they had not secured the cable on the wall correctly. I had to pay upfront for the additional labour required of this complex fit (8 man hours compared with 3). This was based on two men for 4 hours (8 manhours). However, on the day it took considerably less time than this and I had to apply for a refund of manpower costs. All in all it was shambles, took over 3 months for installation to be complete and hard work for me. I submitted a formal complaint as a result of all this and was given an additional one year's warranty for my charger in compensation. The formal complaint was dealt with very well, although I think that I should have been given better compensation. This was poor.

Although the process and the installation was handled well and a quick install date, sadly the podpoint didn’t work and the installer didn’t test it with my car, even though I suggested that he should, still awaiting a revisit to fix

Engineer was very unprofessional and made a mess of the cable run inside the house. Podpoint charger has a fault meaning another engineer will have to come out to investigate. No issues with exterior cabling.

The installation went smoothly. The post installation support has been extremely poor.

Not very happy with the installation and lack of choice where the put the POD, the POD is right in front of the house and an eyesore plus the trunking of the cable inside is of poor quality and rough finish. If I was here at the time I would have challenged the position and the trunking quality but I was in work. As for the arranging of the appointment and survey direction and communication on the installation that was excellent

Very please that I received a prompt installation date. The engineer arrived on time. Very professional. Work done to a high standard with good explanations. My schoolboy error was not to try and charge the car whilst he was still on site. Subsequently, when we first tried to charge, the charger instantly went into safety mode and has stayed there ever since. Resetting the switch in the meter box has had no effect. Connect customer support. Indicated would be contacted by the team within two working days. Hasn't happened. No response to a second email. As it stands have paid £1000 for a box that doesn't work.

Ordered 7kw charger. When set up was charging slower than 3 pin plug. After calling found out it was set up incorrectly. Then to fix I had to get connected to WiFi which wasn't working properly. Still can't get it connected so app compatibility is limited. Pretty poor.

The EDF installer was a bit of a know it all. He told us there was not water bonding when there was, it turned out there was a fault on it. He advised us the cables were too small and needed to replace with larger wires into the consumer unit. He also advised me that we had to have new chipboard mounts pit in! He left to come back another day. We had 3 electricians in to quote us and they all said there was no need to change the wires based on how the setup was in our consumer unit, they also pointed out that we were bonded to the water where he said none was in place, and they all said it is the job of the electric board to replace the mounts for the consumer unit not them or anyone else. The EDF installer came back and I showed him what had been done and relayed the advice we had and he shrugged his shoulders and said that he is the one trying to do a proper job, not the other 3 professionals that came to quote for the work for the bonding and other recommendations. They could of course have quoted for that work to make more money but all said it wasn’t required! He then did the installation, and as rude when he wanted to turn off the electricity as we work from home and I said just switching it off would be a problem and he may need to wait. He told me ten minutes then said 40 and was 50 minutes without power I the end. Finally he completed, he told me he had changed wires out of my consumer unit which he was not asked to do, based on the information I now need up rate other things because of his work that wasn’t required before, and to top it off we have a fault on the unit where an engineer is coming out. Lest hope it’s not him again!

I emailed pod point one week ago to raise the issue that my batteries that store the electricity from my solar panels were no longer receiving charge since the install. No one has come back to me. So I am forced to offer this review. A fast service though has ultimately cost me more money calling out someone to sort the battery issue.

Little effort was made to hide the internal breaker. Look g back this could of been installed in the garage and neat job completed in the house. I now have an expensive boxing in job as well as having to run the cable myself.

The issue was the lack of response from the scheduling team - despite repeated emails, there was no response until >2 weeks later. Calling the customer services telephone line, we got a recorded message saying to send an email!. This caused us major problems as we had to purchase our own cable in order for it to be laid during planned house renovations

Although the installer arrived on the expected day, I did not receive a call to confirm the time as promised. The pod point was installed neatly but there were issues linking it to the house wifi. I wasn’t told this until the installer was ready to leave. It was a simple problem that could have been fixed had I known at the time. I therefore had to connect the wifi myself. The area around the installation was not left tidy - there was brick dust and some rubbish left.

The engineer was polite and punctual and very efficient. Unfortunately when I tried to use the charger in the evening it would not work. I am waiting to hear from the service centre.

The installer arrived on time but did not test the equipment on the car and it did not work. Several calls later the matter was actioned and another installer arrived. The installers were on time and businesslike (save the above). The second installer (unlike the first) was extremely helpful and informed me that this was the second unit he had had to rectify (I think he said it was an identical fault) in the space of a few days.
