Blinds did not fit properly, customer service was non existent, just denial and dismissive, would not use this company again and would recommend others not to either

I would give 0 stars if I could. Awful experience ordering and getting romans installed which has left me never wanting to see the Hillary‘s adviser again and had caused a lot of anxieties in our household. At first, they measured wrongly and so the blinds didn’t fit and had to be re-ordered. An extra 2 week wait. Second time around, the adviser just didn’t show up to 2 installation appointments. After calling up the HQ, I found out that they lost the re-ordered blinds in the warehouse and have to order them again! Another 2 week wait. Finally, blinds got installed but after several hours of huffing and puffing and trying to figure out how they motorise. Again, very anxiety inducing for us, the client. All the way throughout the process, I have been calling up the Hillary‘s HQs who kind of didn’t really seem to care that this job has been going on for over a month and we are left with light ruining our sleep. Nothing was ever offered to get sped up or else how remedied, it’s like they just don’t care. Well here we go, I could not recommend this company less. If you want peace for your family, order else where.

Dont waste your money.Hillarys cant fit blinds how you would expect them to.very dissapointed.They have so many excuses its a joke

Initially ordered 5 sets of blinds for my floor to ceiling windows on June 10th with a fitting date set for 27th June. Unfortunately, Hillarys use a 3rd party courier service who seem completely incapable of giving you a date or time when they are about to deliver, a huge problem if you live 200 miles away from your apartment. I eventually received the blinds but 3 of the 5 were completely broken and needed to be replaced. A replacement order was made with a new fitting date for 27th July. I had notified Hillarys of my current living situation and that I would need some form of notice of when the blinds were due to be delivered so I could travel down. Turns out Hillarys don't really have any control over the 3rd party courier and that I should contact them myself instead. Helpful. Anyway, I received a call 30 minutes ago from the driver out of the blue to say once again he's outside. I've got someone else to take the order for me thankfully, but once again the blinds have been completely destroyed in transit. A complete waste of 6 weeks with nothing to show for it. Absolutely useless is an understatement.

So far one star. They took half of my money in June and the blinds were supposed to be fitted yesterday. Nobody turned up and nobody bothered to ring to say the appointment wasn't going ahead. The call centre can't contact the fitter or his manager. They can only leave messages for them, and their current advice is that I have to wait for a manager or the fitter to pick up a message and call me back. So far nobody has taken ownership and the manager hasn't called back. They don't even know if the manager has seen the messages that has been sent as they can't contact them.

Do NOT get the electric blinds. The fitter and salesman told me that the batteries last months before you have to recharge them which is a complete lie - you have to charge them every 2 days and if you go away for a couple of day they will drain. I have 3 blinds from the ceiling and i have to get on a chair to charge them all the time. They also don't work manually with no charge so you get caught out without being able to shut or open them until you plug them in. Also the customer service is absolutely APPAULING.

What a cowboys they are. They took the money and twice they came to fix the problem and couldn't fix the issue with light bleeding through the blinds and finally they gave up and now saying there is nothing wrong with the manufacturing and they don't do anything and they don't refund money. Deeply disappointed with their ethics. please note they will promise so much to get your order and they come and fit it. In my case. their sales agent suggested a day/night blinds for bedrooms telling us that we don' get any light coming through the blinds except edges, but this is not the case and light comes through everywhere and hard to sleep in bedroom. They twice sent someone for inspection and they both agreed and ordered new blinds to fix the problem, but the problem persists and they gave up at the end. when approached their customer service they blindly rejects and don't want to do anything, telling there was nothing wrong with the fabric. I would avoid this company at all costs. Since I posted the above review here on Trustpilot I have spoken with their Sales team on the contact number given in trustpilot and they have not changed their stance telling me that I have signed their order, when in fact their sales agent recommended the kind of fabric that would not allow light come through. The problem was not about the colour of the fabric, the problem was with the fabric going wavy, hence creating a gap in between allowing light bleed through. it was confirmed by their own inspection team when they were on site. Hillary's now denying a refund, just saying there was nothing wrong with blind, which is completely a lie.

Poor customer service. Once they take your money, they don't care. Wanted quality blackout blinds for my newborn nursery. Poor product as it still let a lot of light through. Called to see if there was anything they can do. Told no and nothing they can do. Extremely poor customer service.

Had blinds fitted some had gaps when closed I made a complaint and no-one called back I phone up again and still one reply again I would not recommend this company to anyone at all payed a lot of money for a very for a bad job

The blinds do look nice...but ror the high price we paid the aftercare is appalling.. we had blinds fitted on 5th May, and that night informed fitter that all the cords on all the blinds were way too short, needing a ladder to open and shut them. It took 3 weeks when fitter returned with only half of the "acorns" needed plus cord... And would return to finish the job when he had rest of bits.. I have text once to see what's happening but recieved no reply its now been 5 more weeks and still nothing.. terrible aftercare and I won't be using hillarys again even though the blinds are good.. we have since fixed the problem ourselves using parts from amazon so we could actually use blinds without a ladder....

Not only was the wrong fabric ordered but the curtains didn't even meet in the middle. Roman blinds too short over an inch at the bottom letting in too much light in the bedroom. Venetian blind not fitted in the recess properly and can't fit anything on the window ledge. Constantly had to chase to resolve issues. Advisors unsympathetic and insulting at times. In the end the venetian blinds had to be left where they are because they couldn't be moved without making more holes. Paid for a top quality service but unfortunately got a bodge job. Please don't waste your money.

Save your money don't order from this company. We ordered 2 blackout blinds that are anything but. Made to measure, hardly, fitted like 2 strips just covering the edge of window. Think we could have measured better with a good old tape measure not some implement that does it for them. Save your money folks, because Customer Service is severely lacking. I've never being spoken to so rudely and dictatorial. Standard answer " well they look okay to me" Hilarys always right, Customers always wrong.

THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY! DON'T ORDER FROM THEM! I had very unprofessional experience with this situation how it was handle, I’m quite disappointing and not very happy with the blinds, and with the order which I THOUGHT WILL COME WITH THE CASE, unfortunately it came without the case telling me that this is what I’ve order! After the worker finish the installing the blinds, I’ve told him straight away that where is the case? He mentioned that this is what I’ve order! I told him to please remove it as was not what we order and is not in our preference! He mentioned to call the customer service and he left, which I found it very UNPROFESSIONAL and he didn’t even listen my complain or not even appologygse. I’ve called the company and I was in touch with one of their manager, explaining the situation, that I’m not happy with the blinds and is not what I’ve order, they told me that this was what I’ve order and they can’t do anything to change it. She didn’t even listen to me, or try to help their customer she just persist that is noting that she can do and I have to order another blind with the case. I've took a picture sending to my partner showing the case and if he likes it! and we have the confirmation. They told me I have to order another blinds with the case! the builder he doesn't even listen to you and neither their manager! so please be very careful!

Worst company I've ever had to deal with. I've recently had my entire house done with blinds and curtains but the quality of the fitting was absolutely terrible. The length of the curtains vary and when trying to speak to customer services you get absolutely no help at all. If you are considering new blinds or curtains avoid this company like the plague.

Terrible experience with Hilary’s blinds. We had three no shows and each time we waited in for the allotted timeframe that we’d been given. Each time we call customer service they just give us a new date weeks ahead and so it’s been 6 weeks that we’ve been waiting just to get the blinds measured! Stay away from this company - completely disorganised and no respect for anyone’s time.

Use a local company that offer some element of customer Service and decency. Having moved into a new house we decided we wanted white wooden shutters in EVERY window in our house. We obtained 3 quotes with one of these being from Hilary’s. Each representative that came round was given a very clear remit for the quote - Every window in the house. All the quotes came back and although Hilary’s were slightly more we decided to go with them as we had used them on a previous property. Although the cost was over £10k we agreed bringing our total spend with Hilary’s to over £13k in the last 3 years. The fitter (Anthony) has fitted our shutters this week and remarked, “looks like we’re missing a shutter for a window”. Upon receiving this news we contacted Beth at Hilary’s who after much back and forth admitted that she had missed it off the quote. However she tried to blame my wife advising that she hadn’t asked for that one to be done. This was a total lie as I was present throughout the consultation and the remit was very clear - EVERY WINDOW IN THE HOUSE. We checked the quotes from the other company’s and they had included the shutter. Trying to resolve this with customer services has been like pulling teeth. Every time you ring up you get a different agent with none of them happy to try and resolve the issue. I suppose this is what happens when the business is owned by private equity money rather than a local family who actually care about common decency, their reputation and the customer. To be fair to the fitter (Anthony) he was spot on and a nice guy but the rest of the company are only interested in your money

Was sold Venetian blinds which have a manufacturing fault. Still waiting for Velcro to be posted to me so that the fitter can return. Hillaries is producing these with magnets which they know do not hold. Its a manufacturing fault which they’ve done nothing about. I was also sold “perfect fit blackout blinds” which are not perfect fit at all letting a window frame of light in from all sides. Cheap looking overpriced product which salesman sold to me that is not fit for purpose. I will never shop with Hillary Blinds again. Also the self-employed fitter they arranged was so booked up it took him two months to come. Appalling.

Hillarys is rubbish on delivery, Promise was 3 to 4 weeks still waiting and we are now on 10 weeks and still awaiting FITTING. Can recommend Hillarys.

Worst incompetent Company known to mankind that employ a pack of liers from start to finish. Had measuring done weeks ago (3 times because the first 2 measurings were wrong). We were told 4 weeks until fitting so fine with that at that point. Had to ring up after a month as no communication from them and were told they were ready and would be sent out to fitter for whom apparently had them delivered on the 8th Nov. Had to ring them again to see what was going on as we heard nothing and were asked if we'd had our measuring done??? After explaining that we were waiting for a date we were then told by the fitter that he'd sent them back as they were not correct. 3 days later we rang again and customer services said they'd sent them back to the fitter - we heard nothing again from the fitter so rang customer services again who said the blinds had been delivered to some woman from hillarys that was then going to drop them off that day to the fitter. The fitter then said he had them but was waiting for somebody to give him a hand with fitting them. Never heard anything again so called again to be told that they would contact the fitter (they allegedly did this whilst putting us on hold). We were then told it would be Friday 25th Nov (today) at 3pm. No fitter showed so rang customer services given all of the trash stories we'd been getting. They advised that the fitter had an issue with his tablet and one of the blinds was faulty (AGAIN) and had been sent back. Asked to speak to manager and was told they couldn't guarantee they'd call me back. I advised them that I wanted my blinds delivered direct to my house and forget them fitting it as they are clearly incompetent. This is only a number of calls we've had to make - if I'd listed all of the stories and calls this review would take an hour to write. They've had my money and have my blinds and still can't tell me whats going on. AVOID THESE IDIOTS. No doubt I will have to call them again and again so I'm just going to get in touch with trading standards to help resolve. I have dealt with some idiotic companies over the years but these lot are top of the pops. I would sack the lot of them as they clearly haven't got a clue and are not being managed by anybody competent either. No wonder there's a continuous sale on. I dread to think how the fitting would go hence the reason I won't be letting them in my home. GET MY BLINDS SENT TO MY PROPERTY OR RETURN MY MONEY THAT YOUVE HAD FOR OVER 2 MONTHS.
