GoodSync is extremely unintuitive to use. When 'exploring' uploaded files to an NAS, there is literally no way of identifying the folder names used by GS. For e.g. you can find your stored folders NOT under "GoodSync Storage" but (after contacting Support) under, "Net Shares (Sib-SMB)" But of course obvious, innit? Then when things get tricky, GS support blames the user. GS will not allow scheduled saves because it refuses to accept my Win password. I wrote to GS Support: "I am 100% certain (double checked by logging out and in again) that my Windows password is correct." Their instant response? "you must be entering an incorrect password," They also came up with other spurious points, including, "It cannot be a non-windows profile and cannot use a PIN to configure Runner Service." That isn't support. That's "Don'tknow so blame the user" and "Swamp them with tech stuff they won't understand." "Runner Service" indeed - what a cop out. Upshot: GS is useless to me.

1. No support for dark theme. 2. When copying the entire hard drive, the computer freezes very much. Literally, even the mouse is slow. 3. There is no “mask” for selecting files from the same folder, only with a specified name. 4. There is no “mask” to exclude files from the same folder only with a specified name. Overall the program is good, I give it 4 stars.

I have used GoodSync both professionally and personally. At a former job we would sync development changes to a cluster of 50+ RDP servers. What used to take hours, we managed to get down to 35 seconds. At home I use it to sync between my two NAS's and I still help upkeep my ex-wife's NAS using GoodSync over an SSLVPN connection. It is a remarkable yet simple piece of software. I highly recommend this to IT departments that need to push/sync/backup very large numbers of small files. Just tell it how many threads to run at once, and BAM! done in seconds, instead of hours.

It seems to be very versatile and well thought out, and it seems to work as well. Pricing was moderate considering I'm planning on backing several machines. The learning curve is quite steep, though, for instance you don't want to even try backing up your iCloud files from your folders, instead you connect the Apple sync systems inside a separate job, or else it's not going to work. So you need to know exactly how to make everything work, or contact support via a ticketing system. That's basically what you're getting

It works very well for backup and forwarding of data to other cloud systems, helping to ensure that Important data and information stored will not be lost if something goes wrong. and there are still other storage sources available as backups It's great for my work.

This review is less for the product and more for the company. The product actually works well but the company doesn't support legacy products or customers. I purchased the version of their product several years ago that allows me to backup/sync files on my computer to a portable hard drive. It worked well and met my needs. The company has decided to now forcus more on the cloud and has discontinued that version. They are trying to force me over to their monthly subscription service that I don't want or need and I'm just out of luck with the product I've been using and meets my needs. That's like if I bought a product at a store, was using it regularly and then one day, the company showed up at my door and demanded that I give it back because they wanted to go in a different direction without even offering me a refund. To be clear, I don't want a refund, I just want the product I originally purchased to continue working. I HATE companies that do this stuff and it makes me hesitant to buy any software from online companies in general.

The product itself is solid with many features not available in other file syncing programs. However, since they've gone to a subscription model, they don't support users of free subscription software, so I'm basically out the money that I paid for their product, for multiple versions.

I downloaded the product and chose free to try it. Although it states it will allow me to use it to sync it did not. Everything I chose was "only a paid feature". That was deceptive and very bad business to lie.

I've had a Goodsync licence since 2016 and used it extensively. I would love to continue to, but it has an issue... On recent versions of MacOS, if you have restored your new M series mac from a timemachine backup (as many do), Goodsync is broken, apparently permanently. I have three Apple silicon macs and my goodsync wont work on any of them anymore (i'm told) because they were setup with data from the previous intel based Mac. Siber need to urgently hire some competent McOS programmers, because it's not 2003 anymore and this fragility will cost them users as it has done with me.

I had an Allway Sync license that I paid once for. I'm not doing a yearly subscription. I've uninstalled and put Allway Sync back on my machine. ALLWAY SYNC USERS: GoodSync is a RIP OFF and a money grab! Don't do it!!!

I have used GoodSync for many, many years now. I stay with it because it works. I use it in the traditional sense of backing up my files from my various PCs regularly. I also use it in real-time to connect to my NAS for any file changes on my main PC. It is fast and accurate.

My conversation with support. I'd recommend checking out other more reputable software vendors. I bought a perpetual license, but they ended support and pulled the download off of their site. Now they want to sell a “perpetual license” for $299 for the same product I already bought a “perpetual license” for. You wrote (2023/01/13 02:54 pm EST) I have a license for GoodSync2Go V9, but can't find the download file on your website. Can you please direct me on where to find it? Nataxa replied (2023/01/13 02:58 pm EST) Hello, Thank you for being a loyal customer and for contacting GoodSync Support. GoodSync v9 is discontinued long time ago and not supported anymore. GoodSync v9 is no longer available for download. GoodSync is no longer offering perpetual licenses. We have moved to an annual subscription-based model. With our new v11 subscription, you can now activate GoodSync on up to 5 computers/devices using one GoodSync account. We are offering 3 and 5-years subscriptions at a discounted price. You can review pricing using this link: https://www.goodsync.com/php/pums/rfprepay.php?lic=goodsync&lang=en We are willing to offer you as to a loyal customer of GoodSync a one-time discount code to purchase GoodSync v11 license. At checkout, use discount code “LOYGS” to receive 20% off your order. If you have any additional questions, please let us know. Best regards, GoodSync Support. You wrote (2023/01/13 04:32 pm EST) Does the basic GoodSync subscription include GoodSync2Go? That's the part that I really need. Your site said the 2Go version was over $200! Nataxa replied (2023/01/13 04:36 pm EST) Thank you for your message. No, GoodSync2Go v12 requires a separate Goodsync2Go v11 license - perpetual license that costs $299.00, non-refundable, no discounts. You wrote (2023/01/13 04:41 pm EST) Then why doesn't my previous GoodSync2Go license carry over? I was an early adopter, now you discontinued my version and are charging $299 for what I already purchased. Nataxa replied (2023/01/13 04:58 pm EST) GoodSync v9 is discontinued long time ago and not supported anymore. GoodSync v9 is no longer available for download. You wrote (2023/01/13 05:26 pm EST) I understand that, but why would I pay you $299 for software just so you can discontinue v11 some time in the future, and we have to have this discussion again. Anyone who purchased a perpetual license in the past, should still have a license now. It wouldn't be very smart for me to buy it not knowing if you'll honor support and updates in the future, or pull the version I bought off of your website and tell me "GoodSync v11 is doscontinued long time ago and not supported anymore. GoodSync v11 is no longer available for download". Get my point ;-)

I have been using Goodsync for years. I use it to keep my files backed up with my cloud setup. I have tried other syncing software, but nothing comes close to the functionality and reliability I have had using Goodsync.

Does the job. I found a lot of flexibility to face my specific (complex) cases.

As an Allway Sync Pro user very disappointed that GoodSync took over this product and now I have to subscribe yearly, where Allways Sync Pro was a one time only license. Not happy with this takeover!
