I asked that my unoccupied home insurance policy be cancelled on 13th March when tenants moved in. The refund should be £335 and should have been in by now. It’s not. I emailed, wrote and had no response. I phoned and was told it would be dealt with within 3 to 5 working days from last Tuesday (having phoned the Saturday before) which would have been this Monday. I wish I had stuck with my previous insurer, Churchill. I unfortunately also took out landlords insurance with Home Protect from 13 March when the tenants went in for another £303. So now I have to spend time presumably going through the complaints procedure.

New to buildings insurance, picked Hone Protect for claiming to provide the same cover as elsewhere for half the cost. Complete nightmare. Never, ever again. When my contents insurance came up fur renewal this year I shopped around- Hone Protect was again the cheapest at around half the price of all others. No chance. I renewed and stayed with my original contents insurer. I’d rather pay DOUBLE the monthly costs to know if I need to claim I won’t get the completely shameless avoidance tactics and bullying than pay half the cost for a con!

To start with i must have spoken to six different people and all were very helpful and friendly and understanding. Your price was very competitive and also at the end gave a 10% discount.

Not a "normal" home insurance policy (as we won't be moving there permanently until later this year), so a "holiday home" policy was helpfully suggested - at a better price than enyone else.

The renewal quote was very good (not hiked up renewal prices like most insurance companies ) getting through to customer service was quick and easy , very operator was polite and understanding . Would definitely recommend this company .

I had to phone 4 times to sort thing out. you will not answer my email I sent. If I could get a different insurance I would but as the properties if unoccupied I don't get a choices.

I contacted Home protect because during lockdown our insured holiday home had not been visited for over 60 days. They said it was ok during lockdown. I give 5 stars for behaving sensibly in unprecedented times.
