“Poor quality product (that was for the sale price) with over 11 faults/ manufacturing issues and was damaged in transit. Stated assembled on delivery on website but it was just left in our dining room by the delivery team unassembled. Apparently assembled on delivery only happens for certain postcodes… be helpful to put that on the website somewhere. Poor service in collecting the faulty table with multiple escalations to persuade them that a HP1 postcode was actually close to London so shouldn’t mean they can’t collect the damaged table for over 3 weeks especially with stores and a distribution centre with in a 40 min drive of me! In the end a week later it was collected (8 seater extending table and all the packaging!). Prompt refund although only for the product not the delivery/assembly charge - but I didn’t have the energy to call them again. Would never buy a large item from them again. The only thing premium is the price. Got a lovely table, delivered and assembled from John Lewis in the end- lesson learnt.”

“Doesn’t come with the hooks for the back of the mirror. Ridiculously you have to get that separate. And comes in crumbly polystyrene. It’s a shame as the mirror itself is lovely. Just be prepared that you will have to do more than usual to make it work.”

“Ordered 2 leather armchairs in Feb 2022 from new selection at full price. They got delivered in wrong colour and faulty. They resolved by reordering them in May, 2nd lot was delivered in Aug again in the wrong colour and one faulty chair which should not have even been released for delivery. Still awaiting a resolution. Very disappointed as I’m a repeat customer and have loved the style of all their homewears. Quality checks have dropped dramatically and unless you talk to a decent manger so has customer service. 😢”

“Service was good but unfortunately we have taken delivery of two damaged tables and are now awaiting a third table. Delivery were in experienced around very apparent problems with the table. Aftercare services were helpful but we are disappointed with the quality of the product.”

“We bought our new sofa from the Birstall store. Excellent service, very welcoming staff with great product knowledge. Support was available but not intrusive, no hard sell and the ordering of our sofa was easy with all our questions answered. We’re looking forward to our sofa being delivered and will shop at Barker and Stonehouse again.”

“A little disappointed overall. Our initial delivery was cancelled only hours before it was due because the item was damaged. When a new item came 3 days later some of the drawer runners were missing - poor inventory control in both cases. However the two delivery guys ,Steve and Chris did their best to retrieve the situation and managed to source the missing items locally. Your delivery note states that you " ensure a smooth and stress free delivery experience" - that was not our experience. Your delivery and assembly charge of well over £100 is excessive and double what most other companies charge - for such a "Rolls Royce price it wasn't a rolls Royce service!”
