We had a wonderful experience in Barcelona, Spain with Volunteering Solutions during our Week Without Walls excursion with 28 students. Jaya was absolutely fantastic, going above and beyond to assist us. A special thank you to Sahil, who was really helpful and did his best to propose the best program for our students. The NGO team in Barcelona was very helpful, and the volunteers were dedicated and hardworking. However, we found that their knowledge was questionable. None of the volunteers were local, and they were all new to the NGO and to being guides. They were unfamiliar with the opening hours of the monuments and the public transport routes, making it difficult to plan our itinerary in advance. When we asked the guides for the next steps, they often replied, "I don't know," which was disappointing, because we had to constantly look the online maps and supervise the students at the same time.The food was delicious, but the quality could have been better. As a result, the students frequently had to order additional food. The Program Director, Jean was absolutely amazing; the program and itinerary were followed consistently. Despite these minor issues, we had a beautiful experience that we will always cherish.
