"I was looking for a short volunteering program (1 week) to make social impact while travelling abroad and with Volunteering Solutions I found the perfect option for me.\r\nBefore booking, I first reached out to a Program Advisor (Monica) to gather more info on the program and understand whether the timelines would be feasible for me, since I only had a couple of weeks to prepare everything before leaving, due to work. They were super helpful and available to answer all my questions quickly, completely for free. \r\nOnce I arrived in Morocco, I was picked up from a local coordinator and briefed on my volunteering project. Ali was really nice, he introduced me to the other teachers and kids at the childcare where I was volunteering and he was always available to provide me with tips and recommendations about local services (e.g. grocery shopping, laundry, etc.) and places to visit. \r\nAs part of my volunteering program, I had to teach English to kids around 4\/5 years old in a childcare located in the Medina of Rabat. The first day I was a little bit confused because I did not know how to communicate with kids, since I do not speak Arabic, and I did not have any material to share with them. However, for the remaining days I prepared some material to teach them words about the four seasons (e.g. I printed some papers for them to color, I drew myself some memo cards to play a game with them to memorize words). The kids were adorable and I was really impressed by their willingness to learn!\r\nRegarding the accomodation, I stayed in a cozy Riad (traditional Moroccan dwelling) located in the Medina of Rabat (10\/15 minutes by walk from the childcare), where I was provided with a very rich traditional Moroccan breakfast and delicious dinner. \r\nOverall, I really enjoyed the program and appreciated the availability and kindness of all the people that I met along the journey (Volunteering Solutions Staff, Local Program Coordinator, childcare personnel, Riad receptionist, etc.). I think it's one of the best ways to learn more about the Moroccan culture and experience how locals live. I just wish I had more time to volunteer, but I will for sure consider again a program from Volunteering Solutions in the future if I have the opportunity."
