This review is not about products supplied or any installation, I'm sure they are perfectly fine.
I'LL keep this to the point....
I contacted Glowgreen energy to get a quote for an 8.2 kwh battery, an AC inverter and all necessary extras, plus install.
On the initial phone call I mentioned the products I wanted and explained that the garage, where I wanted the install, is seperate to the house.
I specified that I needed a LoRa device to wirelessly communicate from the meter to the battery due to the seperation of the garage to the house.
The customer service person didnt know what this device was, however an explanation jogged their memory from another install.
I got a quote and I asked if it included everything!!! Including the LoRa. The reply was YES.
I received the quote via email but with the wrong item on it. Phoned up again and then got the quote sent with the correct product.
All following communication is now via email....
I asked about adding an additional 5.2kwh battery and how much it would add to the quote. This is the reply..
"Hi,
adding a second battery at 5.2 KW would increase the quote cost by a further £2500.
I personally would not feel like the added storage is needed as you could add this down the line."
So, apparently I don't need it and I can get it later! Did I ask for an opinion? Surely it would cost more to add at a later date. Oh, and why dont they
want me to spend more money with them??!!
At this point I am slightly worried, so I again ask if the price is all inclusive, including the LoRa device. Here is the repy...
"Hi,
The EM115 meter is included but LoRa is not needed unless the battery is a long way from the mains supply."
So, now it seems that the initial conversation about needing the LoRa device and the seperate garage is long forgotten.....
Once again I explain everything, the garage, the LoRa, the all inclusive price etc.... I get a reply that all of this will need to be checked and they will get back to me.
Here is the reply....
"Hi,
I am happy to add the LoRa on for £100 for you as I do feel myself that it will be needed."
Apparently they now feel I need it. At this point I have lost confidence, and to make matters worse the extra £100 is apparently a good will gesture.
We go back and forth as I try to understand why their recollection of all of the above is different every time I receive a new reply via email. It's there in black and white and yet
they keep digging a bigger hole.
To top it off, this is another communication from them.
"Hi,
As mentioned I included everything as standard but the LoRa is not a standard feature on the battery install as most people install them in close proximity to their meter
and when you came back to me regarding the LoRa I checked and I came back to you straight away with the price.
If the updated quotation is beyond your budgeting requirements then I fully understand and I am sorry we couldn't move forward on this."
Yep...apparently it's all about my budget and nothing to do with their incompetent service. At no time until I had to question it, did they mention the the LoRa isnt "standard" and not part of the quote.
I ASKED SEVERAL TIMES IF IT IS ALL INCLUSIVE, INCLUDING THE LoRa!
After much consideration :-) I have decided to go elsewhere. I suggest you do the same.
