Using the central board in A Feast for Odin, players have to hunt, gather basic materials, refine those materials, develop their production-buildings, build/buy ships, and raid settlements. The resulting earnings are placed on the players' board in the best possible pattern to produce income and (later) victory points. Ages 12+, 1-4 players, 30-120 minutes playing time.

One of my favourite games in recent memory. So many ways to acquire and upgrade your tiles. So many options that, to the first-time player, can seem overwhelming. After one play though you will realize that a lot of the options and worker placement spaces are just variations of the same thing. A big game with a lot of components, once you get over all the learning and the size of it, becomes very enjoyable.

Great amount of depth in replay-ability, especially with only two players. The options and strategies give more of a sense of what CAN I do versus the what MUST I do. This is an improvement from Uwe’s previous games Agricola and Caverna where I always felt forced into having to do the single most logical thing and games became repetitious. Highly recommend the game at Zatu’s prices.

Great game, but has been out of stock for over 6 months now so am assuming a restock won't happen and cancelling my order.

A 'beefy boy' - this expansive eurogame seems far more complex than it actually is and once your friends have gotten over the number of action spaces it is surprisingly streamlined. It is a game with so much replayability and different choices, paths to follow etc. Despite its size, it is a great way to experience worker placement, even for the first time (it was for me!) & I'd recommend it to anyone even slightly interested!
