“Great game, love the theme, fun mechanics of deck building, and worker placement with variability in being able to randomise tiles per game. Takes 2+ hours yet I always feel there isn't enough time(in a good way) with various valid strategies to consider. The rulebook & board itself looks very complicated, yet once you get down to playing it, it is beautifully simple to understand. The components (mostly) look great and are well made, there are little slots on the player boards so that the disks and cubes don't slide around, integrating these slots into the board itself (for the tiles etc.) would be great. Only three cons, the setup, eventually I got down to around 20 minutes but the first was over an hour. Second, initial learning of the rules was cumbersome, took an age, & if the players aren't patient, it will be a struggle to introduce it to the table. Finally, the board and components are big, right on the edge of what my (admittingly small) table can handle. It's a full-hearted recommendation here, I got it for £33 & it's worth it for more too.”

“This new edition is a whole leap above the first one. The art work is gorgeous and the changes with the bandits is a much better. The game is so full of depth and so many options to get points. I love that you can either buy lots of cows or push the train or any other mix of mechanisms and can still win. The game also has a great table presence and the production is very high in quality. It’s quite a long game but it usually flies by because turns are so fast.”

“Draft the best hand of cards (i.e. cows) during your journey to wild west Kansas, sell them and ship them to somewhere you haven't shipped to before. Then go back to the beginning and do it again. Think of it as taking cows on a road trip and then sending them on holiday, if that makes it easier than contemplating why you're actually shipping them... On each journey, you slowly get better at everything, but with a large range of things to improve, you'll have to adapt your tactics to what happens in the game. Not a quick game but definitely a great game. Cleverly constructed from simple ideas leading to a huge range of decisions to make. Even when luck is against you, there is always something you can do to better your position.”
