Phenomenal value. The boards, miniatures, dice and cards bring the feel of a much more expensive game. The app is atmospheric and easy to use. It's a great introduction to the hobby because it is so simple to play.

Demo'd this at Ukge, liked so much bought as soon as I got home. Played thru first scenario, did not disappoint, even as solo player. App was a big plus, adding vocals, sound effects etc. Gameplay pretty straightforward to learn. Definite winner for me

Great game that you can play with minimum knowledge of rules. Figures are a bit small for my liking but fit the tiles well . Like the fog of war aspect of tiles and arts acceptable. Game is heavily app driven and is a good example of apps of this ilk. Down side for me is it’s a three player/ solo/ or 2v2 game and not necessarily cooperative which I prefer but I bought it knowing this

It's a game with good storytelling and narrative, but the gameplay revolves a lot on luck. The components of the game are very good. Very satisfied with that. Best played with 2

I really enjoyed Destinies and my friend who is a casual gamer even more so than myself. The game is hugely app heavy, to the point where you don’t really need the board or miniatures. We often forgot to move the miniatures because the app keeps track of it for you and you move them through there. Plus, the majority are far too small to really add to the experience and painting them would seem like a waste of time to me personally. Cardboard standees would’ve been better with the minis saved for the big final boss pieces. The art on the location cards is pretty good so it seems a shame that you’re not paying attention to it as much as you could. The story is definitely the strong point here, slowly trying to figure out how you’re going to achieve your one of two destinies is engaging and you’re always actively watching what your “opponents” are doing. I found the skills setup very interesting and how to spend your hard earned skill points was always a tough decision when you’re trying to plan ahead for a goal that you’re not quite sure about yet. If you’ve gone to BGG to check ratings and reviews after playing it is quite obvious that many negative comments towards Destinies are from people who have never played it. It may not immediately make sense how a story driven game can be competitive and only one destiny can be fulfilled (I questioned this myself, if I’m apart of a story I want to finish it!) however, 10 minutes in to the first scenario it all becomes clear and at that point the game immediately went up even more in my estimations. Overall a great experience and I will be playing the expansions too. As a final point, if you have access to a tablet I would definitely recommend using the app on there rather than on your phone.
