Rebel and Imperial fleets fight for the fate of the galaxy in Star Wars: Armada, the two-player miniatures game of epic Star Wars space battles! In Star Wars: Armada, you command the unmatched power of the Imperial fleet, or gain the opportunity to prove your tactical acumen as an admiral in the Rebel Alliance. Massive Star Destroyers fly to battle against Rebel corvettes and frigates. Banks of turbolasers unleash torrential volleys of fire against squadrons of X-wings and TIEs. Assemble your fleet, survey your objectives, form your battle plan, plot your course, call your shots, and destroy the enemy. Armada balances the awesome scale of the Star Wars galaxy’s ships and space warfare with ship designs and rules that make for accessible, intuitive play experiences. It’s your job to issue the tactical commands that will decide the course of battle and, perhaps, the fate of the galaxy. The Star Wars: Armada Core Set contains everything you need to get started, including the rules, an articulated maneuver tool, a range ruler, six command dials, nine attack dice, ten unpainted squadrons, and three pre-painted ship miniatures (Victory-class Star Destroyer, Nebulon-B frigate, CR90 Corellian corvette), plus more than 130 cards and tokens.

A great starting point to get into Armada. There are now plenty of supporting videos on YouTube if you get stuck with the gameplay, but the rules are pretty easy to pickup. Start with a couple of ships, and add more to your game once you are comfortable with the basic idea.

A great game that I’ve just gotten into. This set is an excellent starting point. If you have friends that buy it you can also swap ships out if your only interested in one faction. There does seem to be a lack of stock for the other ships and expansions in the UK though.

The game is fantastic, the models are really well made and the gameplay is really fun to play with a friend if you like tactics and strategy. My only complaints about the game are the initial setup of having to assemble all the ships which takes a while and the fact that this starter set doesn’t give you enough ships to have a full game but I will definitely be buying more ships to play more of this game with my friends because of how fun it is.

I haven't played table top battles for a long time, however when I saw this game I knew I had to get it. I have played a couple of games and the mechanics of it allows new players to learn the rules relatively easily. The addition of more ships, characters, objectives and upgrades, means that you can customise your fleets that allow you to develop your skills and tactics. This will will allow you to make every game feel different and gives game longevity. You just need to make sure your friends also want to buy items for Armada, as the expansions will mean that you will all have to invest time and money into the game.
