Snaking, slithering and hissing, Eldritch Horror: Forsaken Lore, brings us a new serpentine Ancient One and so much more! The world is once again on the brink of destruction, relying on a team of intrepid investigators to unravel dark secrets and battle sickening creatures with a devastating, new arsenal. As with the base game, Eldritch Horror, investigators are tasked with exploring the world to solve mysteries tied to each specific Ancient One. In this box, players will not only discover new mysteries associated with Yig, The Father of Serpents, but also for each of the previously established entities, allowing players to delve deeper into their lore. The worshippers of Yig, both cultists and Serpent People, utilise poison to cripple and hinder whoever attempts to prevent his return. To aid in this task, dozens more assets, artefacts and spells are provided to bolster your armoury and spice up your experience, such as a formidable ‘Enchanted Blade’, the noxious ‘Poison Mist’ ritual, the entrancing ‘Serpent Crown’ and countless more. With 148 new encounter cards, including location, research and expedition encounters, you’ll need all the help you can get to overcome more of the challenges you’ve come to expect from Eldritch Horror. Although this small box expansion doesn’t provide anything game-changing, Fantasy Flight Games have packed a bit more of everything in Forsaken Lore, allowing you to experience more of what you enjoyed in the base game and vastly increasing its replay-ability. For any fan of the original, we couldn’t recommend this expansion more. If you’re still keen for more content, check out one of the other small box expansions, such as Cities in Ruin, or one of the bigger boxes, such as The Dreamlands, which includes a new side board to explore. Great addition to the original game. Clearly the hardest of the series of small expansions ! But that what makes it my favourite. I would rank them like this : 1st. Forsaken Lore 2nd. Signs of Carcosa 3rd. Cities in Ruins Each expansions bring more Talents, Unique Lore and Investigators in a specific manner. The work they put to design the gameplay is always remarkable.

This is such an essential addition to Eldritch Horror, that I wont even mark it down for being the only EH expansion that doesn't add any extra investigators! If you own EH, you really do NEED this, as it fleshes the base game out so very much.

This is an exceptional addition to your base Eldritch Horror game. Where you might have found yourself running thin on encounters in the base game, the expansion takes care of that completely. There are tons more encounters, assets, spells and artifacts, as well as new epic monsters and a new ancient one. This gives the base game much more replayability value, as well as giving the difficulty a nudge upwards. This completes the base game and makes it an even more formidible foe! Enjoy! Bought FL from Zatu on the 27th December after the wife got me EH for Christmas. If you only buy one expansion for EH purchase this one. You don't get any additional Investigators but you get an additional Ancient One - Yig - and additional cards to add to the Core Game decks: Encounter, Asset, Spell etc. as well as extra tokens for Health, Sanity and the Monster cup. You can just about get all the cards from FL in the Core box. I use 5 Phil*d*lphia cheese tubs for all the tokens and bag up all the cards. It makes a nice snug fit with enough room for stuff to move without getting squashed! Pro's - A new Ancient One, extra cards add replay value, excellent production as always for this line of games from FFG, value for money. Con's - no extra investigators *sad face*
