Arkham Horror: The Card Game is a cooperative card game in the vein of Lovecraftian horror. As the Ancient Ones seek entry to our world, one to two investigators work to unravel arcane mysteries and conspiracies.Their efforts determine not only the course of your game, but carry forward throughout whole campaigns, challenging them to overcome their personal demons even as Arkham Horror: The Card Game blurs the distinction between the card game and roleplaying experiences.

Anyone who enjoys Love craft will get a thrill out of this game. A little complex to set up the first time, but once the basics have been sorted, it's a great game.

Fun game, the history very absorbing with different paths and choices that can influence the latter games. Complex game but the tutorial video helps a lot.

If you're into Lovecraft, but just don't want to delve deep into the RPG, this is a nice game with enough despair, horrors and random (un)luck to keep you occupied (and entertained) for quite some time. Keep in mind that this is just the starter box though; and that it only supports 2 players. It is a Living Card Game, meaning that you'll have to buy additional card sets once you feel that you've exhausted the campaign ("story" and "enemy" cards, etc.) included in this starter box. Additional sets are also required to continue to expand the possibility to build your characters ("skill", "item" cards etc.). The card quality is good, so you don't (initially) have to worry about sleeves. "Horror", "damage" and "random" tokens are paper cutouts, but are also of decent quality. I'd recommend it! I've had quite a lot of fun with friends playing the 60-120 minute sessions. It is a cooperative game, and strategy both in terms of selecting and building your "investigator" and what to do with your turn during gameplay is of utter importance. Even though no planning can really safe-guard you against bad luck and the ominous "surprises" lurking just moments ahead in time.

Awesome game, really thematic and I love the story arch. However, is just an introduction I would say if you want to really get the most of it you will need also some of the expansions.

Really good game, full of atmosphere and intrigue. I’m a big Lovecraft/Cthulhu Mythos/horror fan, so it’s been an absolute joy discovering these Fantasy Flight games. Arkham Horror LCG is an immersive and engrossing experience, which I cannot recommend highly enough. I’ve also picked up the expansion “The Path to Carcosa”, which I’m really looking forward to playing once I’ve mastered the core set and it’s “Night Of The Zealot” campaign.

Hadn't tried a LCG before this but I'm glad I tried it. Genuinely fun and exciting game with beautifully illustrated cards. Simple to pick up the basics but loads of room to play very strategically. Highly recommended.
