“Fantastic idea for a game and really high quality documents. Having not played any in this series I initially struggled to get anything right...I’ve not improved much but I’m enjoying the journey. I haven’t rated it as very good, as it can just get a little bit too frustrating at times. You definitely need to be in the right frame of mind to play this, but if it’s your sort of game then you’ll have plenty to keep you busy!”

“Firstly everything about this game makes a perfect present for someone or could make a great addition to your bookcase/game display. All the components look great and the cover has a nice look and feel to it. In this package you get a rulebook, a directory and 10 glossy a4 book/booklets that cover each of the 10 cases included together with 10 a3 double sided "newspapers" one for each case. There is a lot of reading in this game and as such it works best if either all players are happy doing the reading on their own or if one or two people enjoy reading the key paragraphs out loud. If you have not played the system before this is a great entry point and if you have played the system then the innovation and risks taken with the 4 Ripper cases will be a fun twist as well as providing plenty more of the same. The game is not without its flaws the most principle being it does not really feel all that like a game. Watch Death in Paradise or some other cheesy crime program and pause it before the chamber scene and try to solve who did it, how and why and it is not that different to what you get here. Yes you can choose which leads to follow, yes you can deduce clues and other aspects but this does not have the interactive elements or real degree of choices many would want in a game and if you ever fail to make one of the scenarios deductive leaps it can fall a bit flat... Overall despite loving the production values and liking the game I think Space Cowboys other series Unlock! is much more exciting and fun. Still think this is well worth checking out, and at 10 cases in the box with lavish production is excellent value for money. Just do not expect too much.”
