A really fun and silly game that has so many great ways to play over and over again! The the ingredient pouches and even lovely artwork in the box and the whole aesthetic of this game really blew me a way, it is quite choatic and very colourful, and all the different components are definitely exciting, and I think makes gameplay feel really magical. I love the abaility to choose so many different variations on gameplay, which makes it really easy to go through game after game at once and always have very different experiences. All the bags and layout of the box makes it quite easy to have it all very organised and quick to set up, although unpacking at first makes this seem impossible! I can imagine a game with this many cool components and great aesthetic would have knocked my socks clean off as a kid, and I'm really looking forward to playing this with my younger family members, as I've only played with two players so far, which is really fun as a couple. It's always a great laugh, and while can be quite competitive, it's a fun mix of luck of drawing chips and then the strategy of buying more, using points, etc. I would agree where others have pointed out minimal player interaction- I think if that is either preferable to you or you are the kind of group who enjoys vocalising gameplay and strategies this can be quite good, although it can get frustrating with consistently bad luck. I think an interesting element is that often even if you are quite far behind, because of the different ways you can use points, the crazy powers of different ingredients, and the chaos of the end rounds, there are often surprising catch ups where places are totally reversed! The instructions can seem a little short and confusing, but the examples of gameplay they give in the rulebook really help, and the appendix explaing all the recipe books is really excellent and thorough for any confusion on playing ingredients. Definitely a favourite in my house for a game with slightly longer playtime and more complex set up, a really cosy feeling game for the chilly dark evenings, and given a lot of very visual instructions, easy to learn.

Really good family game that you can keep more straightforward or make more challenging with ease. I imagine a group of friends would make a great time of it too.

Very fun game which looks lovely and is unlikely to be too similar to anything you already have on your shelf. We played this with a 9 year old who was perfectly capable of understanding the rules and enjoyed the push your luck element. There is some strategy but there is also, obviously, a lot of luck. This makes it excellent to play with children as they won't always lose, and find it hilarious when adults blow up. From our experience of playing there doesn't seem to be one magic combination of ingredients which always makes you win, there are lots of different strategies and sometimes the trick seems to be reacting to the ingredients your opponents have chosen. The fortune teller cards, different ingredient rules and second side of the board provides enough variety that we have played it multiple times this month and expect to play it for months to come.

Absolutely great game, that quickly became my go-to game when deciding what to play. Artwork is beautiful, very detailed and really engaging as well. Just look at the ingredient books, instead of just plain backgrounds, plenty of little drawings specific to this ingredient. Gameplay is really fun, pushing your luck with drawing chips, and then scoring and buying and upgrading is easy and rewarding. Absolutely tons of replayability, just change the sets, or mix them up, or add other side of the pot for even more mechanics. You'll never play the same game twice. Why not 4 stars? There's little to no interaction with other players. The game would greatly benefit if you could in some way influence (sabotage) other people's pots. Other thing is the spaces on scoring board are too small, with more than two pawns on one space there might be some confusion I know it's a minor thing but a bit frustrating nonetheless. In general, this is a must have game in your collection!

A lovely game ideal for families who are into board games. The kids especially love the push-your-luck element of the bag building. I do recommend it and it's a keeper in our household. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that some of the ingredients going into the cauldrons are more powerful than others, but can be mitigated by using different combinations (ingredients have multiple uses).

Such a fun game!! Have only played it 2 player so far, but it would be just as good with more. There are loads of variations to it and no 2 games will ever be the same. Buy this game, you will not regret it!
