Your Guitar Academy provides very motivating videos and courses to learn the guitar that are easy to follow. It's especially great that they use various ways to communicate with learners, such as online community or weekly online workshops.

I've been Youtube hopping for many years and getting nowhere fast. A few years ago I first stumbled upon one of Dan's YGA lessons and have been hooked ever since. Dan is clearly passionate about teaching guitar and providing good quality lessons for free. In fact every teacher on YGA seems to be infected with Dan's enthusiasm and it's a pleasure to watch anything on YGA. This year I finally decided to take the plunge and become a member of the YGA club. I've been riding the freebies long enough lol. I've been a member about a month and can honestly say the upgrade is well worth it. The interactive tab and backing tracks make learning sessions so much fun that I can't wait to play guitar every day. The pathway is great and I really feel I'm improving even in this short time. When watching a lesson video it like being with a private tutor, although they can't hear your playing they seem to know what is important to tell you at every stage. Anyone stuck in a youtube loop should try out YGA for the free trial, forget all the others for a week and give it a fair shot. I'm sure most will see the benefits and join up Thank you Dan and everyone else involved for the amazing quality video production and teaching I can only award 5 stars but would give 10 if I could

I have only been a member for just over a month but loving it so far. I am a 60+ learner and been playing acoustic for around 6 months ( open chords and basic songs) but am now ready to move on to the next level Also want to venture into an electric guitar First thing I noticed was that a learning pathway has been laid out for me to follow. My instructor is great and the videos are easy to follow. I like that backing tracks and chord/ tab is also available. Good job everyone.

YGA Guitar Club is BRILLIANT! If you are looking to progress your guitar playing and musicality then this is the place. 5 stars is simply not enough. It deserves loads more. I have been a member for 3 weeks and I've made more progress and am loving my guitar playing more than at any time in the last 3 years of internet trawling and you tube hopping. I have tried all the big names out there, both paid and free, and none have engaged me like the guys at the Guitar Club. The courses and lessons are very well crafted, super fun and delivered by engaging, friendly, knowledegable mentors who actually know how to teach effectively through a camera lens. They know how to break down and sequence the learning for effective progress and I get the feeling they genuinely care about the experience students in the club. There are many courses to choose from but, best of all, you can follow a pathway created for you depending on your starting point and interests. This takes away all the wasted time and energy deciding what to learn and practise. Just get a pathway and follow it. Simples. I have done this and have made great strides in just 3 weeks. It's super motivating and the pieces in the lessons are good fun to learn and play along to the excellent backing tracks. There are also excellent learning support tools such as the interactive tab which can be looped, speeded up and slowed down etc. I am not very tech savvy but I find the site and the tools very easy to navigate and use. I can't wait each day to pick up my guitars and crack on. There is a supportive community which includes, amongst many other things, the option to submit a monthly piece for feedback from the mentors, regular live sessions and Q and A sessions with the (adorable) "Main Guy" which are super entertaining and informative. This is such a fun club to be part of and for an extremely reasonable price and, most importantly, it works. If you are serious about your guitar learning don't hesitate, do a trial week then join up and you'll be hooked just like I am and revelling in your progress.

The actual lessons were OK.. They’re not compelling, but the information was of value. However, the layout of the landing page or homepage was very busy making it difficult to know where to start even after having visited multiple times unless I was navigating to a spot nearly everyday. My feeling was that the homepage tried to do too much and would be more user-friendly if there were just a few links that take you where you want to go even if it means having to use two or 3 taps/clicks 3 lto get to the correct spot.

I've just joined this to supplement my one to one tutorial. I can't always afford to have weekly one to one lessons so this gives me the opportunity to follow a pathway. I've started back to basics as I do think it's important to revise what you have learnt

Currently doing the Acoustic Fingerstyle courses with Thomas, the course teaches new skills properly while helping with basic skills through practice. It's great to have a structure to follow instead of just trying to play random tabs of stuff you like. He drops in little comments that help motivate me at least and each section ends with a piece that sounds satisfying to achieve even though at the start you think I'll never be able to do that. Will keep going as it feels I'm actually getting somewhere (slowly in my case).

My daily practice session with Dan always puts a smile on my face! His enthusiasm is wonderful and contagious. I love the fact that you keep the mistakes in the videos and reassure us that if we can't make the lick just quite yet, we'll get there in the end. Having gotten used to Guitar Club, I find that I get very disappointed with every other "online guitar school". I have not found anyone else who has structured the lessons so well, has tabs, diagrams of the chords, the ability to slow down or speed up the backing tracks, etc. Some sites will have some of these features, but I have yet to see another site with everything.
