A snug fit due to the thick hide from which it's made, ergo makes it quite rigid straight out of the box.
For a 2XL size, it takes a few weeks of wearing in to mould to my 63cm noggin.
That said I rarely feel like I'm about to lose it to a strong wind, yes the neck strap is there but it's not essential when wearing, nor does it detract from the aesthetic.
Gives excellent coverage for face & neck in strong sunlight; and reasonable waterproofing when facing a British summer.
Great purchase, looks the part, can see it lasting a good while.
(For reference, the previous hat I have lasted over ten years before it started falling apart. Made of far thinner leather than this one, still serviceable but showing its age.)”
