“Used this to automate my Garador garage door opening. Also, have used Fibaro Door Sensor 2 so can get Open/Closed status. They work well together and would recommend.”
“Initially this device did not interview correctly and took a few attempts to include successfully. However, once included properly it has performed very reliably. I have a reasonably large footprint that my z-wave network needs to cover and this device seems to have single handedly turned things from very flaky to rock solid for half of my network. Only using the relay side of things - cannot comment on the temperature sensing.”
“A very reliable unit from a z wave perspective, haven't seen any issues with it going offline despite being one of the furthest from the hub and therefore reliant on the mesh.
Only disadvantage is it will not be suitable for every installation as it needs access to the switched live and com from the wall switch if you want to use it in that type of installation. In some installations on a two way switch, the com will be at switch 1 and the switch live out to the light will be on switch 2. It may not be possible to identify these at the ceiling rose either. This is evident in the documentation that they provide.
Perfect for standard installations though.”
“This is a brilliant little device and exactly what I needed to emulate a momentary make/break switch on a low-voltage circuit to trigger our curtain motors. There seem to be very few non-voltage z-wave switches on the market, but I can confirm that this works perfectly for my purpose.
I especially like the fact that I could optionally configure it to switch off the output circuit automatically a configurable time after it receives an "on" from the z-wave controller (in my case I found one fifth of a second was about right).
I have fitted three now, with two more to go once I have installed the curtain motors. All have so far worked reliably.
If you intend changing parameters from their defaults, make sure you download the documentation from Vesternet, which is correct. I was originally unintentionally working from a copy I had found somewhere else on the internet, which turned out to be incorrect in several respects and caused no end of confusion. Memo to self: always use the resources on Vesternet.”
“I have an oldish electric garage door and its remote control became unresponsive. This little device came to the rescue connecting to the garage door control box using its momentary button switch connection. I am once again able to open/close the garage door from the comfort of my car, even better I can ask Alexa to do it for me. Alexa doesn't understand the command "Open Garage Door" you have to use "Turn The Garage Door ON" to both open and close the door, not intuitive just something to get used to.”
“When these devices work they are brilliant with a large amount of functionality in a small form factor. Of the 6 I have bought, however, all operated the relay, one was unable to read anything from its second input on delivery and a second the same input stopped working after a week.
I would still recommend the devices. Test all the function with all inputs and the output on delivery.”
