I installed this in a 3 way, with neutral at switch, toggle switch. The box also had two other 3 way switches, which made for a lot of wires. Luckily the wall box was deep to accommodate the wires, as the Vesternet switch is deeper than the Fibaro that I had used on other lights. Take a picture of the wiring before you start and use the Vesternet wiring diagram, for Fibaro switch where S1 = L1 and SX = COM. I had a spare L1 wire which I found had been used to pass live to another room. But with 3 way change, L1 is no longer live. The photo helped. "Dad the bathroom light is not working". Easy to change from Momentary to Toggle - under "advanced" add variable 8 to be data size "1 byte hex" on drop down with value 1.

Originally used these with SmartThings but have now moved over to homeassistant. Once you use zwave2mqtt (built in z wave doesn't seem to be able pull the config for these from the z wave database) they work beautifully. Amongst the devices in my z wave mesh these seem to do a lot of the heavy lifting in terms of repeating etc. also they will work with a switch live to operate the wall switch and do not need ground from switch also. Some brands need a closed loop from the wall switch which is difficult if you only have access to perm live at the ceiling rose and need to install there.

I wanted to try out this Vesternet branded dimmer as it was price competitive and looked like it would it would fit the bill. It was a slight pain to install as it was ever so slightly thicker than the Fibaro Dimmer 2 that I normally use. The main issue was that when I had got the wall switch back on, one of the cable was pressing on the reset button, so the simmer had lost its inclusion and I had to take the switch off and start again. Not a great solution, as recessed button would be better. This installation is with normal 2-way wall switches, which means that the dimming function is not available from the switches. The Fibaro has the ability to go to 100% with 2 quick on-off actions, this is great if you want to cancel any dimming that has been applied. I found it disappointing that this unit has nothing like it by the looks of it. I also found it frustrating that I could not trigger a calibration (load test) from the options, I need to power off the main to the part of the house and configure the unit to calibrate on power-on. I suspect that it works better with spring loaded momentary action switches, but I have not tried that, and I am on the fence if I will or not, or just replace it with the module I am more familiar with. It was also slightly irritating that the unit assumes that you will be using as MAS, rather than a 2-way and it operates in a very sporadic and confusing manner until this is changed after inclusion of the unit. I guess all units have similar issues here, but I first though I had done something work in the wiring. I have noted that others seems to have much better success with the momentary switches, so I will consider this first. One aspect that I would was great over the Fibaro was the build quality, it feels sturdier and the screws are very easy to tighten and secure, that made it easier to work with the unit. I will review this all again after it has been installed a for a while. I will also look at changing to momentary switches at that point, if I find we have an issue with the dimming.

What size pattress are you using? We always recommend 45mm deep pattresses to allow room for cables and airflow as per https://www.vesternet.com/pages/apnt-127-physically-installing-a-z-wave-dimmer-or-relay-module If it's that tight in the pattress then it sounds like it could be an installation problem as the module is sized fine assuming a standard pattress. Regarding the comment about MAS, the default is mentioned in the manual and is adjustable by the associated Z-Wave parameter. This is also the default for all dimmer modules - Fibaro, Qubino, Aeotec, etc all default to momentary switches.

Very happy so far after a few days usage. I bought one to test whether it performed better on my HomeSeer system than the Fibaro Dimmer 2's which I have been using for some years, but which I haven't been entirely happy with (the action buttons never seeming to work properly, and some devices don’t dim properly). After some confusion understanding the User Manual (which refers to PUSH switches, which apparently means Momentary, and PUSH LV, when it doesn't seem to be designed for Low Voltage use), the device installed on my HomeSeer HS4 system very easily. There was an error message in the installation log (Warning: Failed to get a Security Scheme), but that is not entirely unusual with HomeSeer in my experience, and it does not seem to impact day to day operation. Only two out of 3 child devices were created in HomeSeer (Light and Power Management Notification - not sure what the third one should have been?), but again I haven't noticed any problem because of it. Dimming works fine, both via my momentary switches and the HS4 software, without any changes to default settings. The performance is far better than I have had with most of my existing Fibaro Dimmer 2's. After the success of this test, I am now planning to install several more to replace my existing Fibaro Dimmer 2's

Fairly happy with the dimmer. After a couple of days use, it works as expected. Easy installation, just follow the simple instructions. Easy enough to integrate into SmartThings using the device handlers provided and can set up routines within SmartThings and within the Alexa eco system via SmartThings. Best thing is they are wife and guest approved as they don't remove the standard functions of the light switch. Would happily install more during my upcoming renovations.

Wasn't sure this would work in Fibaro HC3 but it does, you just have to Include it without Security. Works perfectly, controls some 30W LED load without flickering or any other problems (I used the bypass thing just to make sure). Fiddled with the Paramters as shown in the manual to change the switch type to momentary. Also lets you configure the default if it loses power - we get quite a lot of brown outs here so it's nice to be able to set lights to default to OFF so you don't get the lights coming on if there's a power cut in the middle of the night!
