I purchased three of these units (not from Vesternet, because they were out of stock for ages). Having now received them I am extremely disappointed. I had intended to use these with my hugely reliable HomeSeer controller and integrate with the previous generation (none-power-reporting) TKB plug-in modules. However, of the three delivered, one wouldn't play ball when trying to include it into the Z-wave network. The inclusion process for the second one completed, though I had to rescan to get the power-reporting functionality working. But then it constantly floods the network with instantaneous power reports, every few seconds, despite parameter 3 being set to 720 (1 hour). Haven't tried the third unit, but returning as these units are clearly not up to the job. Very disappointing. Will instead revert to a more permanently-wired, Fibaro insert module, which does play nicely - and even has the added bonus of being able to specify %-change in power usage for a power report to be sent to the controller. A shame, because other TKB modules have been working well; but this next-generation is just not fit for purpose.

I have a SmartThings hub and bought 2 of this as alternative to SmartThings power outlet. Not very reliable as it throws up some spikes in readings sometimes for whatever reason although the appliance connected to it is switched off. Sometimes it doesn't operate either. Although it's rated to be 3kW, when I tried to use it with my kettle (2kW) it tripped. I can't recommend this. If you have SmartThings hub, get the power outlet which works seamlessly.

I can not review these devices as they still haven't arrived yet.

Can't really say too much about a switching socket. It seems reliable over the short distances I'm using. I have one acting as a repeater so has made a sensor in the garage work reliably rather than basically never working. Watts used shows up in Vera app and power seems fairly accurate but I've only used on low
