“I have bought several of these with more on order to build up an accurate picture of what is consuming electricity in our 100% electric house.
Setting up on the Fibaro HC3 hub is straightforward if you set them up close to your hub in the first instance. See my review of the Aeotec extender to overcome range issues in an old farmhouse.
Very easy to install and set up and they give the correct readings of power used. Max is 13amp as you would expect so not a good idea to use on an extension lead unless you are careful. The ring led light is quite bright at night but you can turn this off by setting the parameter 41 to 0.
Quite pricey but work well and they act as an extender as they are part of the mesh.
The USB port has no real use for me but I understand that one without the USB will be available soon.”
“I have been building up a collection of these over the years and have 15 now from Vesternet. They just work and range is really good. No problem including them with my Fibaro HC3 from one end of the house to the other. Have also previously used them with Indigo Domotics and they also work well with Home Assistant. Shame they are quite pricy in comparison to wifi plugs and would have been nice if the USB port could be controlled also.”
“This plug works seamlessly with my Fibaro controller but I found the USB socket on the side not controlled in any way. It is always on, regardless the socket status.”
“I took the opportunity of the recent sale to add a further Fibaro Wall Plug to my collection, partly as something to experiment with added to a separate test network using the latest Z-Wave JS integration in Home Assistant and an Aeotec Z-Stick 7.
Four stars as they do seem pricey at RRP, granted I got this one in the sale.
For those wondering it works well with Home Assistant and Z-Wave JS.”
“Great product love that these units are not so big as others so perfect if your socket is in a tight spot. The light also makes a great nightlight.
Great product.”
