“The device works perfectly with two external sensors and an Aeotec USB Stick Gen5. Because it's battery powered you need to use the device button to make sure it wake up to receive Z-wave commands. These must be queued by the controller ready for the wake up. I used Z-Wave development tools to confirm initial correct functioning, associations, configuration parameters etc before integrating it with the target system which is based on the ComfortClick BOs application.”
“Bought this with the external sensor to measure the hot water tank temperature. This was easy to set up, but I needed to include/ exclude a few times to get the external probe registered. Both work well, and appear to be reliable. There are no problems with updating when polled.”
“Rubbish, connects to smartthings and shows battery at 1% and thats it. It does not recognize any child devices either. No direct app control for it either. Unfortunately its not even heavy enough to use as a paper weight instead. Total waste of time and money so dont bother with it.”
“The parent device is reporting CurrentTemperature every minute as per configurations, however, during the process, it doesn’t interrogate its associated child device. GuestDegC (SES302) is being polled during the wake-up interval, resulting in the update of the variables associated with the parent device but the child doesn’t ‘t report CurrentTemperature. It seems that the child device only reports data when the parent device is woken up by pressing the action button. According to the device manual, it supports either 1 thermistor (SES 001) or up to 4 external digital temperature sensors (SES 002/003), but currently, it does NOT.
The Secure 302 will only report the current temperature for the main device. For the children to work properly the device will have to be properly integrated with Vera.
I couldn’t find such an integration request in our internal tracker but it can be created if you wish. Based on the number of users interested in this particular device it will be position in the list of future integrated devices.”
“It does work with the Vera. I have many different temperature sensors in my house but this beats them all for controlling heating. It reports precise changes and any temp change is reported quickly which is important if you use it for heating control. Disassembly could be a little easier though (to change batteries).”
“Bought the SES302 plus the pipe-sensor kit in order to be able to measure temperature of central heating hot water. Doesn't work with the MiCasaVerde Edge - devices get included but no temperature measurement, so that was a waste of money. Disappointed that Z-Wave manufacturers and suppliers can't work together to advise their customers when products aren't ready for mainstream.”
