“This was the first battery powered device that paired on the first attempt with Vera (it didn't go to sleep during Vera's initial configuration of the device, like many others made by Fibaro do). I use Vera only as a Z-wave gateway for OpenHAB2 and it works great. Single and double presses get detected by the Vera and stored in slCentralScene. It's easy to figure out which button was pressed, for example button 1 sets the value of 1 on single click and 2 on double click. Button 2 sets a value of 3 or 4 and so on. In total it sends 16 values.
The physical feel of the buttons could be a little improved, although the LED blink helps with the feedback.”
“I have just purchased third Remotec ZRC-90 controller since two that I already have works nicely with my HC2.
It uses CentralSceneEvent instead of sceneActivation so can have only one scene for all events.
When Remotec ZRC-90 is included to HC2 you will get notification that it does not have template but despite that it works nicely.”
“Lack of decent controllers/switching with Z-wave continues with this controller. Very tacky, poor quality for your money. Purchased 5 of these but had 2 replaced due to failures. Works 9 times out of 10 but I want more than this. Battery life? I have one controller thats not often used but the battery needs replacing every two months, another lasts over 6 months.”
“It was hard to get working with Home Assistant, but found a working solution here (single button) presses:

“Bought this to control 4 zones of lights in a large room. Programmed with Homeseer, Does the job very well with the top row of buttons turning the zones on, the bottom row turning them off and press and hold to dim or brighten. To achieve this you need to program events and run some scripts. Can also use the double press feature to actuate a further 8 scenes but have not programmed this yet.”
“Only just got this working after help from Mios. On Vera this only receives the scene info if the master is device ID #1. If you have migrated from one Vera to another, and imported the z-wave settings, the Vera may be #2 (for example).
The solution is to Reset the z-Wave settings
(Vera > Settings > Z-Wave Settings > Advanced > Reset Zwave Settings). You will then have to re-pair all your devices. (After a day spent doing that, hindsight says it may be quicker to unpair them before resetting).
Second (very minor) issue is that using it to set the house mods - it displays VACANTION in the setting page, but still works.”
“Delivered today and up and running within an hour on Vera Plus UI17 with firmware 1.7.3015
everything working as it should giving a single tap and a double tap on the 8 buttons, giving 16 scene controls in all.
I would certainly recommend this controller.”
“Clearly this is a problem in Domoticz, which I hope to get to the bottom of, especially since you can see all the correct functionality happening in OZW, so I know this will all come right in time. In the meantime, my wife can use it to manually turn 4 lamps on and off and she's as happy as Larry. I'll come back if I solve it, or maybe someone out there has the answer?”
