“So far it’s been a little frustrating. It’s main purpose is to monitor overall home energy usage, so it’s linked to an Aeotec G5 energy monitor. The combination of the opaqueness of both has led to a huge amount of work to get the pair working in an understood manner. The hub has dropped out a few times, occasionally becoming “undiscoverable” without unplugging it and rebooting. The Hubitat support have been slow to respond to queries yet fast to close them down if I myself don’t reply quickly enough.
I’m sure this is all “newbie” stuff, but worth knowing I hope”
“Order arrived promptly from Vesternet. The Hubitat hub is a LOT more involved than a "plug-and-play" device but as long as you're willing to learn how to use it the Home Automation possibilities are pretty much endless. A VERY worthwhile product with a supportive community on the users forum.”
“Yes Hubitat can switch between US and EU Z-Wave frequencies as I liked, Yes it can Smartstart-include Z-Wave devices, Yes the simplified guide for building automation scenarios is attractive. However, Hubitat incorrectly identified my Aeon Labs Z-wave Heavy Duty switch as DEVICE, and the Googway Technologies Co. Ltd In-Wall Switches as KEWE-EWE LOCKs,despite existence of Z-Wave Database for all, thereby making all the good sides of Hubitat useless for me. Then Instead of carrying only a USB stick around to include devices, the Hubitat Hub needed to be repeatedly re-installed near each device. Summary:Hubitat C7 is of no use to me.”
“A good start - after trying Ncube, now dead - Vera, now ?? - this seems far more alive and moving forward. Above anything else, the support network seems far better organised. Regular updates to add devices also inspires confidence. Ask me again in 12 months.”

took 1 star off due to limited functionality on the app and help section for walkthroughs could be improved, good support in hubitat community but still difficult to work out at times if a device will integrate easily with hub or not. All my devices worked except those which work via SmartLife app and TP link wifi ones. I am aware of some workarounds but that might need some work when I get around to doing it.”
“The right level of complexity. Not so simple that it isn't able to be flexible, but not a blank script page either! The UI isn't as 'user journey' focussed as more developed items, but that's the nature of such devices at this time in their development. Very active user forum that seems mostly a-political and helpful so far.”
