“I have used Indigo in a Mac for about 12 years which is infinitely configurable and supported devices is vast so I am finding the Hubitat a bit clunky and the devices are not well represented. e.g. Fibaro RGB LED dimmers do not act as you would expect and lock up. These are devices that have worked on my old system for several years.
BUT there are regular updates and it is easy to configure and set up. I think it will keep growing and getting better.”
“Been on SmartThings platform for years, over the years performance and functionality has dropped. Welcome Hubitat.. its just what ST used to be with the learning from the cloud based errors in design Samsung made. Local, fast and so far a pleasure to work with.”
“Migrating to Hubitat has gone pretty smoothly so far, most of my existing devices were added easily, struggling with some old TBK sockets, managed to set up a Popp socket as generic. It's amazing how many of the old Z-Wave manufacturers don't seem to exist anymore. Hubitat rules are much more powerful and easy to create. The Dashboard could be more attractive but there's hope for future upgrades. Overall, very happy.”
“Great to use. The programming logic is a breeze to get stuck into and largely intuitive.
It's tiny.
It's super-responsive.
Downside, just the one really, is poor Z wave reception but it's fine if used in a single building. The Vera Edge it replaces had a much stronger radio circuit.”
“I wanted a local solution to connect smart devices and this fitted the bill great. It does take a bit of setting up though. So expect a quite steep learning curve, but the Hubitat forum is really useful to solve most problems.”
“So far so good. The 'everything local' experience is working well and whilst there's been a small learning curve coming from Smartthings it has generallyu been pretty smooth sailing, plus the community is fantastic for getting help with anything. Highly recommended.”
“Great - east to set up and add devices. Remote connections, great dashboards, apps and automations. Fairly simple but advanced at the same time. Have best of both worlds in local control but tied in to Alexa and remote connection!”
