“Having walked into my hallway to find water dripping through the ceiling, I decided it was time to invest in an early warning solution.
I have an extensive setup, but water sensors are one of the few devices that I have never added before now. I picked up this sensor based upon its price, the presence of probes both on top and the bottom of the device, and the fact that it uses ZigBee which is what my network is predominantly built upon.
As expected, it worked with SmartThings out of the box, not really surprising given that these are the same sensors sold under the SmartThings brand for many years now. I also tested the device and found it to be extremely responsive in firing SmartThings notifications.
I have now installed in next to the offending pipework in our boiler cupboard and, with all of these things of this type, hope to never have to hear from it again!”
