“Bought many of those dimmers, one was dead on arrival which Vesternet replaced immediately. Super easy to pair to my homeassistant controller using an aeotec Z stick 7 with S2 security. Some do emit a quite high pitched coil whine but it mostly isn't a problem since it can barely be heard when the dimmer is installed behind the light switch itself.
They have otherwise been working perfectly for about a month as of the time of writing this review.”
“I bought many of these to replace older plus devices from qubino which now fail to configure properly with the HC2 (leading to less than zwave plus performance).
I use these over fibaro to avoid the painful and quite expensive bypass devices.
These new devices all work perfectly with HC3. But, note that some will exhibit a high pitched tone (which isn’t a fault, but is a consequence of their design and the extent to which the resin has covered the parts in manufacture). It can be heard unless they are properly contained. There is a note on qubino’s customer site about it. Otherwise it would 5*.”
“I'm not an electrician but managed to install this in about 20 minutes so not too bad.
It paired with Z-Stick pretty easily and was read into Home Assistant without issue.
I had a problem getting the status to report back to HA when the manual wall switch was used so had to set up polling for that device. Not ideal but shouldn't be a problem for a few light switches.”
“I had a professional electrician install this and it took him a couple of hours to get it working so it's not the easiest of installs. Adding to Vera was relatively simple but had to be done as a generic z-wave device, unlike the other Qubino relays which use the install wizard. Now it's in it appears to be working but the dimming function on the switch itself doesn't work, you can only dim using Vera control which is frustrating.”
“Small, robust and good features. Works well with Smartthings.
For me, not perfect and chosen more of the Fibaro Dimmer 2s. Using connected to a local light switch, the Mini Dimmer does not go back to full brightness with the switch (ie not Wife proof for me!)”
