“This product is great. Works well, very aesthetic and good build.
Of course you can't say that it works on smoke and fire until you have a smoke or fire... But until now it works well... had some difficult on detecting how to make it awake to my razberry, but after this it went smoothly.”
“I bought 3 of these.
I was getting the alarms going off far too often.
It wasn't just the one alarm, it was all 3.
These were mounted near by "normal" smoke alarms and they never went off along with these ones.
Seriously, stay away, dont look at the price and think, WOW, think hmmm seems cheap.
I cant recommend a replacement z-wave smoke alarm, I have yet to replace these.”
“The million button press menu with very little idea (single button and light) to work through the menus makes this almost un-usable. I found it extremely weak at connecting to HomeSeer, so couldn't rely on it, entirely defeating the purpose of a smoke alarm. I bought Nest Protects all round the house which work brilliantly, interact with each other, report their status to one another and the app, and with HomeSeer. I got rid of these as they're useless, like many zwave battery-powered devices.”
“Smoke Sensor is connected to my Samsung Smartthings Hub2. ST found the sensor very quickly when tested the siren was very loud.
I have put it in the kitchen on the ceiling
My daughter recently burnt food - house fire alarms went nuts- nothing from the Fibaro Smoke Sensor. Took it down, blew cigarette smoke at it nothing. It was still treporting temp but not sensing smoke. Ran a Test - siren worked fine. Blew smoke at it again - nothing.
I definitely would not trust this device to protect my house”
“Bought it because it was aesthetically pleasing yet discrete compared to others. Basic smoke and high temperature sensor function works with my Piper NV although more advanced features do not.”
“Well thought out and works well but like all battery operated devices, can be tricky to get onto the network. I had to force the unit to wake up (triple press the middle button three times) around three times before all the configuration data was through to the controller (zstick/openhab). Works well with openhab. Only gripe I've had is diagnosing the intermittent beeping it keeps giving off, however I think this was a low signal warning as it's stopped since installing a mains powered (extender) dimmer module in the ceiling of the kitchen below.”
