“With this linked up an alarm triggers all the lights on to make evacuating safer, as well as notifying me in the adjascent building. I just don’t understand why Fibaro removed the option to mains power the device in this new revision.”
“Already own one of these but as always with Fibaro products the setup with Smartthings wasnt easy. I needed to place it next to the hub and try several things to pair the device. Once paired it works well. Like all the extra parameters that Fibaro give you to configure the device.”
“Took it out of th box, paired it with my controller and was up and running in minutes. This little device is nice looking, easy to screw to a wall and has lots of nice little featues. I am using it with an Aeotec Zstick and and OpenHab installation.”
“Bought 2 of these, connected them to Smartthings no problem, integrated nicely into the App too, and i mounted them next to normal smoke alarms, the normal smoke alarms go off now again, burnt toast etc, these devices have never ever gone off, ive tried too, still cant get them to go off.
AVOID, expensive, pointless, total waste of money. Probably better to build your own.”
“I have 3 of the first model and 4 of these - and while they can be a little fiddly to set up (everything on one button) they are very neat and they do detect smoke just fine (at least all mine do!).
1) You need to use a proper smoke pen to test them - I regularly test mine and they all behave as expected. You don't want them going off when you burn food - you do if there is a fire.
2) Make sure you set the sensitivity correctly using your controller (I have a Zipatile)
3) Make sure you set the various alert behaviour using your controller”
“I bought this in 2016, I had to replace it because it started triggering with no reason, now the replacement started to do the same.
This product cannot be trusted.”
