“At 70mm by 35mm the KeyFob looks like a river-polished pebble which fits well in the hand. The chromed buttons look nice, although the '-' key is a little small compared with the others.
Sadly, the sleek design hides a weakness.
The CR2450 battery is held in by a turn-to-lock cover with a rubber o-ring seal. This sits in a ledge that is cut-away in two places for +ve battery contacts, and can block the terminals when installing the battery cover.
This makes it challenging to get the cover on successfully, shown with a green LED flash on the front face.
Tip - clean the battery before use as it is shipped with stickers which leave insulating glue residue behind.”
“Great product by Fibaro, it can configure 30 functions and has a security mode, the user can sequence the lock password which is a great feature. Watch out for LED codes once the keyfob is fully configured with all the 30 functions, it helps the user to operate efficiently and the most effective manner.
The programming of the key fob takes a lot of time due to the way the HC2 interface is defined. It is easier to program the single click and long press but when it comes to double and triple click, the programming can be only done through add new scence. Before this, the parameter, 21-26 to be enabled under advanced settings and the device needs to wake up. Same applies to sequence mode where the user can enable 2 to 5 combination keys. At time when the keys are getting programmed or mapped to different scenes or devices, the HC2 interface takes time and this could be due to browser issues, one has to refresh, clear cache on the browser and relogin HC2 to set the programming on the HC2, hoping Fibaro will look into this and rectify the issue in next 4.x upgrade. The keyfob can be programmed fully on version 4.120 though it is time consuming, it is worth the try to enjoy 30 function on a small keyfob ring.
