“When I first bought this item it was because of my earlier use of the, by comparison, very limited Universal Sensor.
The Smart Implant is a very useful component but its total functionality is dependent upon compatibility: it is great with the Fibaro Home Centre (little surprise there) but a waste of time with Vera as there is no support from Vera in configuration”
“I have a number of the old Fibaro binary sensor devices being used to Zwave enable a door bell and for temperature monitoring using DS18B20 sensors in and around the house. The old Fibaro sensors are no longer available, replaced by these new ones. The new sensors no longer work for me with HomeSeer. I am using one to Zwave enable a smoke alarm but the 3 attached DS18B20 sensors are not recognised and so from my perspective these devices are now much more limited. With Fibaro's policy of not providing firmware updates except via their own controllers I will no longer be using these devices.”
“The device itself is unbelievably small and cute and seems to work well. However, the SmartThings support relies on user-created handlers which don't support all features (eg analogue inputs) and it seems Fibaro don't care enough to spend a few days writing an official one that does, which is a shame.”
“Working on the Vera platform the device does not deliver all that is promised.
As a switch/relay it is fine, but it offers a range of temperature monitoring channels which are in no way accessible despite a plethora of unintelligible programming icons which are not removable. To use the switching function in the real world it is necessary to interface with a low voltage relay”
