“You may have guessed from the title that my main reason for this purchase was to extend my Z-Wave range.
My tool shed contact sensor was right on the edge of the existing Z-Wave range. After installing this functionality is flawless.
The energy metering is interesting, but I don't really need it as it only runs the same bedroom TV.
The light intensity is changeable, but I have needed this either.
I would whole heartedly recommend this plug, it has worked absolutely as required everytime.”
“It feels substantial, despite being much more compact than many of it's competitors.
The LED ring looks cool. I'm not too bothered about it showing power consumption as would rather have direct control to indicate other events. I've not established if this could be possible yet.
Overall I'm very happy and will probably buy more.”
“Just what is needed to keep a socket and extend the range of your z-wave network. I have bought cheaper z-wave devices and they do not extend the network range, only act as repeaters.
Also a lot of my light switch pattress boxes are slimline - which means the little relay switches will not fit in behind the switches. Using these help to extend the range to the battery operated devices that cannot see the gateway.
The stats it gives are useful and the light glow for night time is ok and can be combined with motion sensors to provides a level of lighting, but can only really serve of value if you have a series of them along the route you require.
I think the real value is the range extending capability that sets it apart from the others. Build quality is solid.
If you need to extend the range of your network and cannot use relay switches (or cannot use built in z-wave (MCO Home or Neo Coolcam) type light switches - then this is a good option.”
“I have multiple types of z wave wall plugs. This is by far the best. Feels sturdy, light indication is good and can be switched off if needed. Some plugs do not relay the z wave signal, this does, strengthening the mesh network in the localised area. The range checker feature gives you the confidence to understand that it is within range to pickup requests as well.
Good stuff.”
