“Easy to set up on z-wave network and simple to install on garage door. Even tell me the temperature which is a bonus. Would happily use in the house too.”
“Good product! My only regret is that it does not include an acceleration sensor (3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope or any kind of vibration sensor) for door knocker detection, unlike the Aeotec/Samsung SmartThings Multipurpose Door Sensor.”
“Overall a small neat unit and I like that it also supplies temperature as well as closure , motion etc. I have several of these around the house which once setup work very well, but they are fussy about the alignment and gap between the sensor body and the magnet. They also need to be mounted on a good flat surface for the under-body tamper switch to operate correctly. The recent cold weather highlighted a problem with one device that is fitted to my garage door. The door open/close signal failed when the temperature fell below approx 2 degC. I remounted the body twice - each time it operated for a short time after it had warmed up whilst I replaced the tape and then stopped when the body cooled back down. Meanwhile it was still reporting temperature and battery levels. Now the temperature is on it's way back up the door open/close is working (2 to 3 degC seems to be the threshold). So the issue seems to be the magnetic sensor rather that the magnet itself, so be careful lf planning to use in an heated location. Other than that fine.”
