“I have used these sensors for quite a while and the second version is definitely better than the first. I like how compact the switch is, and they have worked well in my system for quite a while now. Once they are set up reliability is quite high. Cons for me would be the special battery type, even though I easily last a year, even on doors which open frequently,”
“Summary: The old version of this sensor was much better, wouldn't buy again. After receiving this sensor I noticed that it would occasionally miss sending a message on state change. I thought it must be the signal, so I bought an extender. But even having the sensor near the hub I often miss state changes - like 30% of them. So I moved one of the older Fibaro sensors to the same location and it was 100% reliable. I know Z-wave is funny with signal routing and neighbours, but I let it all heal, I checked the neighbours included the extender, etc. I wonder if this is because they moved from the wire antenna to a PCB one? Or from a reed switch to some solid state magnet sensor? Also the older sensors also had a connector so you could attach a external switch if you liked, these new ones don't. Given all the positive reviews perhaps my unit is bad, or maybe I'll just try a different brand next.”
