“This is an excellent & compact CO sensor.
I purchased this to replace an end-of-life Aico CO Sensor.
This Fibaro CO sensor is able to operate as a 'Stand-Alone' device, so can be used in ANY home.
However, since it also has full Z-Wave communication capabilities, it can also be integrated into a 'Smart Home' :-)
I now have it communicating to my Raspberry Pi-4 controller, via an Aeotec Z-Wave USB Stick.”
“So frustrating.
It looks nice. And was relatively (Relative to a Devolo TRV that is) easy to include. But that's where the usefulness ends. I'm sick and tired of having to remove the batteries every 3 days because it thinks they're flat (When they're brand new!). If it thinks they're flat you get a helpful chirp every 30 seconds or so. And it's annoying. So annoying. Meantime the reported battery level fluctuates between 100% and 10%. It's perfectly capable of sounding the flat battery chirp even when reporting the level as 100% back to the controller.
It seems to have real problems with battery reporting and voltage detection. Also updating the device for reporting interval is more miss than hit. It took two weeks last time I managed it.
I'll be replacing it with a Nest smoke alarm RSN...”
“I ordered a Fibaro CO sensor along with a smoke detector. Both come in the same sleek housing which is about the size of an ice hockey puck - much smaller than any other sensors I have seen.
Smartthings lists the smoke detector as one of the "things" in the menu and found the Fibaro device very quickly. A test with a piece of smouldering paper confirmed that the smoke detector (a) works and (b) is VERY loud!
Sadly the CO detector is not listed amongst the "things" and so far I have failed to connect it to my Smartthings hub correctly. I tried to connect manually but Smartthings keeps deciding it is a motion sensor which is useless.
Until Smartthings adds the CO sensor to its list of add ons, or I learn computer programming, I have a rather expensive paperweight. Despite its lovely design, I cannot award more than three stars to something which I cannot get to work.”
