“Having used the Hue tap switch and button as well as the Aeotec
Nanomote, this is by far the best z-wave switch I have tested. Took a bit of time to set up on OpenHAB but now have full functionality.”
“No problem adding to Homeseer controller, and easy to set use each quadrant for single and long touch - have used it to control lights and relays. Comes without any useful documentation, but this is easy to find on the Aeotech website. Unobtrusive style and good overall design - uses rechargeable battery and can easily separate the body from the magnetic mounting plate for charging.
In practice I don’t really need to have 4 quadrants and the ability to set each for single touch, long touch or dimmer control, but it’s so much neater than anything else I could find.”
“This device works fine in my HS3 set up. It responds quickly - although this often has more to do with the controller and system than the device itself. It includes easily as most Aeotec products do in my experience - apart from the Doorbell 6 which seems to be a below par frustrating exception. The buttons seem a little flimsy, but are normal for these flexible plastic on microswitch types. The only minor problem for me is that a long press is always immediately followed by a ' release' notification. Consequently, most times you have only have two button press options, and not three independent options as advertised.”
“I'd like to first make clear I had no issues whatsoever with the shopping experience at Vesternet, my review is strictly on the Aeotec NanoMote Quad.
This thing is so slow! Honestly, it takes ages to trigger anything. Most of the time it doesn't even work, but even when it does it takes quite a few seconds to activate anything. I've set it up to some very basic functions ie. turning lights on and off. By the time it works I would have had time to stand up and switch each individual light from the old wall electrical switch.
Some might argue it might be useful for triggering more complex routines but this is way quicker to do from your phone anyway.
All I wanted was a simple device so everyone at home could use the smart lights without access to the apps. In theory this does the job but it's way too slow and unreliable.”
“I do like this device for its style, rechargeable battery and magnetic mounting plate.
My only issue is not so much with the device itself, but getting it to work as described with HomeSeer.
I have lights and motion sensors to activate them.
When I press the button on the Device it will directly control the respective light module. Failover for HomeSeer Outage
If HomeSeer is still running and / or the motion sensor has not reported in them HomeSeer will turn the light back off.
So HomeSeer needs to be aware that the Device button was operated.
This is possible but there are two nodes for each button in HomeSeer. Multilevel and Binary.
Only the Multilevel works when the device is securely included into the Z-Wave network.
All the Multilevel and some of the Binary nodes work when included unsecure. The issue here its different binary nodes that work every time the device is included. Sometimes none, one, two, three, never have I got all four binary nodes to work.
However, it needs to be included securely to directly control the secure light modules.
That being said, support requests with Aeotec and HomeSeer are still ongoing and have been very responsive so far.
Maybe just reach out to others and confirm your intended use case has been done before. That being said, I have purchased another one of these already.”
“I have 2 of these and they are great. The battery lasts around 3-4 months between charges and the magnetic clasp means you can stick it to the wall or take it with you.”
