“I use several of these controllers with a community driver on Hubitat to enable the extra swipe functionality. They respond quickly and provide a lot of options to map useful functions to cover a range of devices on one controller. I use one square for lights (on, off, scenes, brighten, dim) another for the fan (on, off, quicker, slower) and music (play, pause, volume up, volume down) etc. They look more stylish than most smart switches and I love that they are rechargeable rather than causing more battery waste. The only thing it's missing which would make it 5 star would be the addition of a wired mounting plate so it could just stay on the wall permanently without me having to take it off to charge a couple of times a year.”
What controller are you using (optional)?
Open Source Software
“I wanted a battery-powered Z-Wave switch that works to replace something that doesn't. So far so good. This was extremely easy to set up using Home Assistant and then it just sticks on the wall where I want it. Battery capacity seemed like it might be rather short but the latest charge has been running it for over a week now.”
“A nice looking remote. It works well. However for someone taking their first steps in HA, it was not straightforward to connect the individual switches to other Z-Wave switches and get them to control them. Fortunately, there is some useful info on the HomeSeer forums. Once configured, it seems to work well.”
“Great item using to control blinds in bedroom and some lights.
Only down side is cannot keep it mains powered, so have to remember to charge the battery up.”
“Very hard to add to Fibaro system. I was able to add only 1 piece..
Even If i added, the associations dont work as they should.
The first button doesnt work in association with Fibaro at all.”
“At just smaller than a normal UK light switch it's pretty compact. It looks great, has lots of functionality and the inclusion of a rechargeable battery is a huge plus for me.
The magnetic attachment to the back plate is solid, it's not moved since I installed it and after a few weeks of usage the battery life looks like it's going to be fantastic too.
We use it mainly for switching lights and sockets in hard to reach places but the possibilities when paired with openHAB and some coding knowhow are endless.”
