“This version of the sensor is definitely an improvement over the MultiSensor 6. Most importantly the motion sensing is much quicker. Built in driver support in Hubitat is ok but missing the option to set the motion active timeout hopefully they will add this soon.”
“Great new version of the MultiSensor. The new firmware appears to work well. It's so much faster than the previous version of the MultiSensor. Support in Hubitat is ok, waiting for the built-in driver to be updated to allow the timeout setting to be adjusted. It defaults to 4 minutes but you can adjust it using other drivers for now.”
“This sensor promises so much but having ordered 3 of them I cannot recommend them as I had to return 2 of the 3 because of firmware issues. The manufacturer has problems with supplying them and I am still waiting for the replacement sensors more than 6 months after I first ordered them. I still don’t know when they will be replaced but I would recommend to anybody to buy an alternative make instead of these.”
We understand your frustration with the delay on these, but the main reason for the delay is updated firmware which fixes all previous issues. We expect stock from Aeotec this month (June 2022)
“It’s easy to setup, works well with Smartthings and generally an improvement over the MultiSensor 6. Still find it best to be powered by USB rather than the batteries as these can be expensive to replace if the sensor is very active. Really does depend how much you poll the sensor. Overall like it!”
