“It was not the easiest gadget to set up. Instructions could be clearer. Not sure of its full capabilities so far as the instruction manual is not simply enough for me to understand. I have rigged it up to turn lights on upon entering room and it works well.”
“Firstly you have to be on firmware 1.37 to avoid the 'motion stuck' issue. In addition, there are issues when it comes to illuminance thresholds being reported correctly following changes in light levels, where sometimes the new lux level is not reported back to your hub - making this a poor choice for lux-level controlled lighting. I suspect these will be rectified in future firmware updates, however, for noe, go buy a MS6 instead, they are frankly, better and a lot more stable.”
“Essentially these devices (at the time of writing) are mostly shipping with firmware 1.4 (or 1.04 as some hubs will show). This firmware has a known error that causes motion to get 'stuck' and an 'error 85' in the device logs. If you suffer from this, contact Aeotec and they will walk you through how to roll-back to 1.3 which has no issues. When you do this the device works as expected with the added range benefits etc. of a Z-Wave 700 series device.”
“A great upgrade and a 700 series sensor. These can currently be glitchy when including in HA if not near at inclusion time, but seem OK if you include and configure the parameters and then move them. The motion detection is very sensitive - it will detect a mouse in a shed for example.”
“I had some trouble at first. One Multisensor-7 added to Hubitat works OK but a second one does not respond to Motion.
First upgrade Hubitat, then remove the battery operated sensor, then re-add it on USB power (important!), then doing firmware upgrade from 1.04 to 1.4... then remove and re-add on battery... and it was all fine after that.”

“Compared to multisensor 6 the delay in detecting motion and notifying the controller is now gone.
There are lots of clever configuration options as well - notify on motion only if lux level above certain value.
Glad the USB power option has been retained, you can power several of them using a 5v POE splitter as they consume very little power.”
“Purchased to connect to Hubitat. After Aeotec, Vesternet and Hubitat all insisting that these are compatible, nobody said IF you wait for Hubitat to complete the software updates or IF you download z-wave basic tools and change the parameters yourself if you want anything much more than the plug and play attributes. Having said that I have a cozy office with temperature fluctuations of around 0.5oC
Build quality wise, the usb power lead is a cheapo (this is optional to use) but I guess I am grateful that it has this option as I am not restricted to large sample intervals to save battery. I do plan to purchase more of these despite them not being perfect.”
