Ordered for new Home Assistant setup. Works great, much better than the Nice control system that was built in. It updated with no problems within home assistant with no download faf. Would definitely recommend!!!

Very easy to connect with Home Assistant, had no issues finding devices. Also super small.

Really good range compared to gen5 stick and pi shield. Being able to upgrade firmware using Linux are a gamechanger.

be prepared to buy some range extenders or powered devices as repeaters. It was obvious from the size of the Z-Stick 7 that there was little in the way of an effective antenna and with a brick house the indoors range is nowhere near that quoted. Works fine though and set up very easily with Home Assistant. A firmware update was though required the process for which is well described by Aeotec.

Fine little stick for Zwave - I've used it to replace a Vera Plus gateway and for use direct on my Home Assistant installation. Seems to work fine there - and some of the Zwave modules that were too new for the old Vera have now been put into service, so that was a win. It was supplied with an obsolete Firmware version 7.11 so I had to flash 7.18 which I downloaded. The Home Assistant docs all warn against the old firmware version, so it had to be done and added an hour or so to my move from old to new Zwave systems. (I did ask before purchase if the "latest" firmware was supplied but although I was assured these are recent stock from Aotec I discovered that this does not mean latest firmware!) Anyway - it's working now so I'm happy.
