“I wanted a doorbell that I could intersept the signal from and use it in my HomeAssistant setup to do other things. Probably a little overpriced unless this is really want you want.”
“Vesternet claims "You’re notified wherever you are - Whenever you are, you can receive instant smartphone and app alerts from your Z-Wave system." but I can find no way of making this happen. The tones are customisable as is the volume but pressing the doorbell button just sets off the chime device - it does not notify the Smartthings hub and so in turn it can not notify anybody.Unless I am missing something obvious it is just a very expensive, low featured doorbell”
“Not great - no Z wave event on Button press. It works as a Siren and Ezlo Vera say they are adding compatibility to Vera Hubs - sure hope so cos otherwise in expensive wireless doorbell”
“Didn't immediate connect to Smartthings but after a couple of resets it worked. Device is loud and much smaller than I expected. Added bonus that it can be used as both a doorbell and alarm siren”
“Very happy with this device but you need to adjust the control for the volume as it comes preset at 100%. As it double up as an alarm too it means it can be very loud. We have two from the office so we know on two floor which door is being used.”
“We had a double issue with our bell in that visitors needed buttons in two places depending on whether the driveway gate was closed or they could get to the front door and also whether we’re in the house or I’m alone in my home office at the far end of the garden. This solves both problems - I have two buttons both connected to one siren in the house and when that siren sounds it also notifies the other siren in the office, which is too far from the buttons, via the zwave network. Works reliably and my HC3 can easily control the volume and alert sounds.”
“I am not going to override anyone’s user experience, this is just my own experience.
The doorbell able to connect to my Aeotec hub on the same purchase, but it can’t really configure as per describe, volume and tone can’t be adjusted, sound loud but not good, not able to interact with other Aeotec products purchased and connected to the same hub. I believe that people buy this for SmartThings operation, it doesn’t response normally in SmartThings, while, it is not able to communicate with Alexa. So, it turns up work alone just like a wireless doorbell without any Smart functions.
Thanks for Vesternet, it keeps its promise to refund to me and I am happy to buy from Vesternet next time.”
