“These things are great. Note that the ones without power metering don’t bridge the positive terminal to the in terminal while the ones with metering do. This means that if you want to use it for a uk 3-way circuit (google the difference) you must use this one not the one with metering.”
“Using this with Hubitat to report the status of a mains device. Seems to switch OK is sync with the input signal, but pretty slow reporting the change of state.
Work in progress at the moment.”
“I would have used the Aeotec dimmer module in preference to this but the way my lighting is wired for 2-way switches just wasn't compatible. Choosing the switch, which requires a 3-wire supply, meant I needed to run in a neutral to the backbox, but in my application this wasn't a major job.
I bought the Aeotec in preference to the Fibaro because I found the online information from Aeotec vastly superior.
The module is very small and I think I could have squeezed it into a standard backbox, but I used a 9mm spacer to make absolutely sure I didn't crush it.
As a switch, this functions really well, and I love that the 3-way switching function (non-UK terminology for 2-way) means that the existing 2-way mechanical wall switches can be used as normal.
The one disappointment for me is that I wanted the switch to act as a repeater for a Yale smart lock, which is operating at S2 security level. This switch (as well as the Fibaro equivalent) doesn't support S2, and therefore can't repeat S2-encrypted messages.”
“I had tried both Fibaro and Aeotec relay switches in my setup with SmarThings v2 hub. Both devices are very similar in many ways but Aeotec seems to offer better ZWave signal range.”
