“It is a good booster if you need to boost your signal, however, if you have a lot of devices which connect directly to electricity (not battery) then you don't need that”
“This is great little Z wave extender, my garage light run by a fibro switch 2 was intermittent some days as it is a good way from the HC2 but since plugging in the range extender I have had no connection issues :)”
“Bought a bunch of these as opposed to socket / plug devices because they have a much lower profile and largely go unnoticed when plugged in so are great for behind furniture - unlike a bulky TKB for example.
After including them into my Z-Wave network within a few days I noticed a vast improvement of Z-Wave control reaction times and stability, with devices on the outskirts of my house now able to be reliably controlled!”
“I bought this to extend range to a distant gate lock (Yale Keyless with Z Wave module). After including into the network I still had issues. The Quick Start leaflet that comes in the box explains the simple process of including (controller into include mode and press the button on the repeater). I saw the repeater confirm inclusion with a green LED and the controller added the device. All great then? No.
After some troubleshooting & downloading the full instruction manual ( https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/81wigSoF2oS.pdf ) I found there is an 'advanced' function to enable security.
When trying to include, press the button twice within one second. You will get a blue LED instead of green to confirm the inclusion (in my case with Vera Plus).
I also found that the device can be included in position, rather than within 3m as in the manual. I did however have to rediscover neighbor nodes and wait patiently for the route to the lock to be discovered. Some devices still showed "unable to connect" after a few hours, but a wake on the devices and a toggle in Vera brought them back online.
Hope this review saves some time for people who need range extending to distant encryption enabled devices like sirens and locks.”
