“I've always had problems fitting sensors to upvc external doors because of the angular trim, the sensor and magnet were obvious and unsightly. These strips are just what I needed, hidden and working perfectly with my homeseer system.”
“These are not designed to be moved, so you only get one shot at fitting them. They're actually quite delicate due to the thinness of the casing and it will crack if you try and prize them off (unfortunately I learnt this the hard way when it failed to work after fitting!). They can also be fiddly to pair with a controller. In my case a SmartThings Hub v2, but got it working in the end and the range is rather impressive - working outside at some distance from the hub.
Tip: spend some time before fitting the device to test placement of magnets - the instructions are poor and it's not immediately obvious where the ideal contact point is on the strip before it sends a close or open command (about an inch from the top in my experience).”

Since it is security related it's particularly important that it incorporated Z wave plus security features, not to mention range and other benefits. At £50 it's expensive and I'll be giving it a miss until price and features become attractive.”

Small gripe! They have to be accurately lined up and the magnets do not like working if placed on metal... Possibly something to do with poles? Reversing? Who knows but yes simple and mess free with a good range as well! In fact range seems to be superior to all Fibaro battery operated devices!”
