The sensor looks great and is easy to install. While it might work great on other system, I would not recommend it to be used with the Vera Plus controller. I'm running Firmware: 1.7.2138 on my Vera Plus and could not get this sensor to work. Before you buy this check the compatibility information on the Vera home page. I know that Vesternet has published a hint, how to configure this sensor with Vera systems, but that might be for oder Vera Firmware versions and not for the Version I currently have. My Fibaro (FGK-10x) door and window sensors are running great with Vera Plus. Once again, the Sensative sensor is great if you are not on the Vera plus controller.

Is incredibly easy to set up, especially if you set your z-wave controller to include mode before you remove the magnets from the packaged unit as this sets them to inclusion mode. I've connected them to a Vera Plus and used the Vesternet handy guide to get them working correctly as they are not supported on that controller. So far so good with them although it has only been a couple of weeks. Make sure you keep the round magnet that come with them so that you can wake them up when making configuration changes.

I've installed one to my balcony door. My controller is Vera Edge and doesn't support Sensative Strips out of the box. So you need to make some manual configurations but it's not that hard. Vesternet has a good article about manual configuration. You can search for that. My Balcony door has recess ledges but I managed to install the strips. You need to test the module before sticking it to the ledge. I used tapes for temporary stick. It works flawlessly and the sensor is totally invisible. I'll install one to my second balcony door. Thanks to Vesternet and Sensative for this great product.

This is a great design, given the small dimensions. It was easy to pair with my Vera Lite unit, and a little fiddly to configure but I got there in the end; I had to pair/unpair almost 1/2 dozen times before I got it properly configured (as per guide on this sit) and working. Unfortunately, after fitting the device to my front door, which is only < 20 ft away behind a brick wall, my Vera unit is now reporting that it cannot communicate with the device, and then "ERROR: Unable to get any information on node". I don't know what to do now as there doesn't appear to be any support offered on the Sensitive website. My Vera unit is rather temperamental to say the least, so not sure where the root of the issue is.

Needless to say, bit tough to evaluate battery life yet so that one will have to wait! Bought one of these in the sale for my side gate since it claims to be weatherproof. Installation was straight forward and adding to my SmartThings hub v2 was very simple. It seems to work well so far, the adhesive stuck quite happily to the wood of my gate and once installed it's very nice and discreet. I'm starting to wish I had picked up a couple more for my doors during the sale, really is nice to have such an unobtrusive sensor. My only gripe would be that it seems a shame to have to throw away such an expensive device just for want of a battery, even if it is in 10 years time... I guess that's the price you pay for style!

After using 3 Fibaro door sensors for a few years, thought I'd give these a whirl and see what they are like. Followed the instructions and for them included I under a minute from my phone. A lot quicker to include than the Fibaro. Had to install under the door in my house as this is the only place I could get it to fit (French patio doors) and all is working AOK. I'd love to find out what the test factors were used for the 10 year battery life. My wife is a smoker and we don't smoke in the house. The door must be opened and closed about 10 times throughout the day and this will test the battery life. With regards signal; the Fibaro HC2 is about 3 meters from the SS so this should help battery life to. Hope this helps some people. Regards, HALLAMNET

After automatic inclusion, I changed the device_file and device_json to D_DoorSensor1.xml. I also changed category_num and subcategory_num to 4 and 1 respectively. In the options screen, I created parameters 1 and 2 and set them both to be 0. Hopefully, shutting down the LED should help preserve battery life. I now have a device that looks and acts like a traditional door sensor in the Vera UI.
