About Spicentice:

Back in 1994 when founder, Ketan Varu, was at university, his mum sent him recipes and spices to make real Indian curries that would remind him of home. Pretty soon all his friends were hooked and the idea for Spicentice was born.

All these years later Spicentice is very much a family business (with mum, Manjula, and dad, Ramnik, still making sure Ketan eats a good lunch!) and the range has grown to include Indian, Thai, Mexican, Portuguese, Cajun, Jamaican and Moroccan spice kits, along with handy tubs of herb & spice rubs.

Spicentice stands out from the crowd because of its commitment to traditional recipes that have been perfected over generations, with 100% pure herbs & spices, no waste and absolutely no nasties! Ketan now has a young family of his own and continues the tradition of cooking and sharing meals with family and friends.

“I can't fault the end flavour of the curry we cooked with this kit. it was great quality - as good as anything in a restaurant. however my one issue is that the methodology isn't available on the website before you purchase. its only when you get the kit home that you discover you've inherited a number of stages/use of blender etc etc - the red curry wasn't a quick meal solution! Great to have the shopping list there but the method would help decide if this is really a kit for you in a hurry, or something you try when you've a lot more time.”

“Exactly the same opinion as I have with the Green Thai Curry.. Flipping amazing! Very tasty, healthy & filling! Soo simple to make when you have the instructions of how to prepare the meal from the packaging.. 'be prepared'.. then be astonished by the flavour...& time it takes to whip up such a fantastic tasting meal!!! Both the Red & the Green Thai are my favourites.. I always feel like I'm having a treat when I'm eating these meals but I'm always on plan! Thank you 'Spicentice' for bringing some great recipes into my eating plan, helps massively!”

“The curry itself is of restaurant quality, it was so delicious, I could eat it everyday. The only critique I have is that the packaging states 10 mins prep, 35 mins cooking time and I don't agree at all. I thought this would be a quick 45 minute job and it took around an hour and 10 minutes if I'm honest. It doesn't put me off, but I wasn't prepared for it to take quite so long. I would have definitely preferred a more honest timescale on the packaging, so I could have mentally prepared myself to be cooking for so long! Just for confirmation, this hasn't put me off! They are lovely curries/meal kits - well worth the time!”
